Haunted Castle

"Hardest...Game...Ever?"

Haunted castle is an arcade game released in the 80s. If your thinking that it resembles a Castlevania game....Then your right.

Story: 3/10
The story isn't that good but then again your not playing the game for that. The story goes like this:

You get married
For some reason Dracula steals your bride away and now you have to go after him. Good luck....

Graphics: 6/10
Some of the Graphics in the game are down right cheesy. Next to Frankenstein, The Zombie enemies, and Dracula, Simon looks really cheesy. The others are ok. Just ok. Not as good as Super Castlevania 4 but still ok.

Sound: 8/10
This is the best part of the game. The music tracks are an excellent bunch and some of the tracks are remixes in other Castlevania games. The sound effects got annoying however.

Gameplay: 2/10
The Gameplay drops here. In the game you got your standard whip but you also get a mace and a sword! You also get Sub-Weapons like bombs and stop watches. However there are no candles in the game! You need to get the Sub-Weapons out of enemies. Only certain enemies drop them so good luck finding them. The hearts are rare which make the Sub-Weapons useless. Also the outrageous amount of damage you receive after being hit is BIG problem. Simon whips WAY to slow and your attack doesn't slow enemies down. Some enemies take more than 1 hit to beat. Also I don't think it's even possible to beat the game. Why? Well the second you enter Stage 3 enemies bombard you which makes it impossible for you to even walk around. If you can beat this game there is NOTHING you can't do.

Difficulty: 15/10
This could be THE HARDEST GAME EVER! If you like challenges, and you are really, REALLY good at video games please play by all means. HOWEVER, If you get frustrated easily......Stay away.

Overall: 3/10
The soundtrack is good but bad gameplay and stupid Graphics just hold it back so much.
