Review by The Mogster
"Sega, eat your heart out! Namco's in the house!"
Hello people, this is my first review I've ever done, so bear with me, hope this review will help you! When I played Virtua Cop 2 at the arcade's, I thought that game would rule the shotting gaming world, then I see this Time Crisis, and I become change my mind. Sorry Sega!
Gameplay (9 out of 10)
The gameplay is great, but the game's short. Namco gives you a light gun, and a pedal. How does the pedal work, you say? Easy! It's realistic because, with the pedal, you can duck, shoot, duck shoot, to dodge enemy bullets! You first start out ducking, and when you step on the pedal, you stand up and shoot the enemies. The only think that annoys me about this game is the time limit. You can't just keep hiding for the rest of the game, or the time limit will run out and you'll waste your precious quarters/tokens.
Story (7 out of 10)
This story is used a lot sometimes. Your a cop and your mission is to fight your way through a criminal mastermind's mansion to save the the kidnapped daughter of The mayor (or governor? or was it president?). You fight your way through the bad guys, and then fight mini bosses, then finally the criminal of all criminals.
Audio/Video (9 out of 10)
The graphics are very impressive, and pretty smooth. I've never really payed attention to the music of the game, because I'm mostly ducking and shooting at the enemy. Gunshot sounds and machinery are nice, and don't bother me any bit.
Replayability (10 out of 10)
If you didn't get a score you liked, you could always play it again right? I know I would, if I had the quarters. I'd probably never tire of this game because it is so much fun.
To Buy or Rent?
Well, I've only played this on arcade, not on the PS, but if you have the money, you should buy the GunCon, the Game, and maybe even buy the new Time Crisis, Project: Titan, along with it. This game is definetly worth playing for those who have only played shooting games like Virtua Cop and bleh! Police Trainer!
Overall: (9 out of 10)
Totally awesome game, the only stuff that makes it a 9 is that it's short, the story is used often, and the time limit can be annoying.
Thanks for reading this, and you'll probably see me review Time Crisis 2, Police 911, and Crisis Zone next! Then I'll move on to the consoles! Probably RPG's. See ya!
