"Get Your Quarters, Kiddies..."

Basic Info - This game is a perfect arcade fighting game...for so many reasons. If you never heard of Tekken before, it's a massive fighting game made by Namco, so go to an arcade and try to find a Tekken game...and now, for the review:

The cast of characters is huge, having people like King, Hwoarang, Eddy, and Paul. You can choose from one of these, or the several secret characters you can get from beating the game.

Tag Team Mode - The Tag Team mode is just amazing. It's a basic Tekken fight, except anytime when you're not being attacked by the opponent, you can press a 'Tag' button and tag your other player in. The match continues until both of the people have been knocked out. Once one character has been knocked, you can't tag, and must fight the other team until you or they have been K.O.ed (knocked out).

Fighting System - The fighting system is the one of the best compared to other arcade fighters and Tekken games. There are a couple of buttons (4 or 6, I can't remember), and they are divided by half. One half of the buttons make your character punch, and the other half kick. While these may not seem original, the different buttons will have different impacts. And then there's the combo system. If you press special buttons, you are likely to do a special combo that is usually up to 7 hits. Aside from that, you can also execute special moves, what are usually 1 move that does more damage than a regular punch/kick. Each character usually has more than 5 special moves, each inflicting major pain.

Graphics - The graphics are truly beautiful, and could easily rival any other arcade fighter. The arena, which is 3D, usually consists of a background, and something to stand on. Some of the arenas include cities, and just plain fields. The characters them selves are highly detailed, and this is just one of the greatest aspects of the game.

Multiplayer - One of the most fun things to do is go head-to-head against a friend at Tekken Tag. This provides new challenges, and unpredictable fights. This is a very fun option.

Bottom Line - At the end, this is really a great fighter. It may not have the graphics of consoles, but it's fun, and that's all that really matters. Tekken Tag gets you hooked, and I often find my self wasting tons of quarters on just beating one game. If you haven't played this yet, go to your local arcade, and try it NOW!
