"Ooga Booga...Prehistoric Outing for Joe & Mac"

This arcade game features the two cavemen known as no other than Joe & Mac. These two are the coolest cavemen to date because they are..... well... players to say the least. Joe and Mac seem to get all the cave women. Anyway, you get to scale through the beautiful lands of the prehistoric age, and get to witness a lot of prehistoric life. You got dinosaurs, mammoths, err man eating plants, and evil cavemen all that want to destroy these two cavemen. You are on a journey that Joe and Mac are sure to remember forever.

GRAPHICS:9

These graphics are very nicely well done. From what I saw, they were excellent for the release of this game. I always imagined the way cavemen would look to Joe and Mac. All the levels are beautiful, and I think the backgrounds are magnificent. I think what makes the graphics so great to me would be the color that is brought to the screen. Very colorful, very big and full of life characters. Even the dinosaurs and other creatures all through out this game are very well constructed. From the beginning until the end of the game, some great graphics are displayed along the way. You will most defiantly be pleased with what was brought to the table with the graphics in this game.

SOUND:9

The sound in this game is also very good. What you would probably expect with all the cavemen music all throughout. I always like music with a good type beat to it, and music that is always kicking. This game defiantly delivers just that. From the opening level to the bosses, the music is very well put together, and is something that is actually fun to listen to. Even Joe & Mac will make little sounds when they get hit by an enemy. I was expecting normal type music before I played this game, and I was very pleasantly surprised in which the music was superb. You can even hear dinosaurs growl in different spots throughout the game. I was very pleased with the sound job in this game.

GAMEPLAY:8

This game is a side scroller. You are either Joe or Mac and you are out journeying throughout their prehistoric land. On the way you will run into killer cavemen, all different types of dinosaurs, and other surprises. Your main weapon is well a club of course, but the good news is that you can also get more weapons on the way through your journey. Some examples are bones, boomerangs, fire, and wheels. All these weapons are unique in their own way, but I have to say I like fire the best! Throughout the game, you will encounter enemies, but also can find bonus levels on your way. The way you do this is by hitting a egg without any enemies in sight, and a little pterodactyl will come out of the egg and take you away to the bonus level to try and get a skull key and other goodies. These skull keys can open other bonus levels on the map which can give you even more goodies!Whew! A very good thing about this game in my opinion is that there are a lot of bosses in this game; 1 in each level actually. Some of them are easy, some of them are challenging it all depends. There are about a dozen levels overall so you have a long ways to go from Joe and Mac's home to inside a T-Rex! You will have fun going through this game, although it can be a tad tedious.

STORY:7

It's about what you could expect. 2 cavemen by the name of Joe and Mac are out enjoying themselves one day, and all of a sudden while they are in their house, some evil cavemen come and steal all the cave chicks right away from them! Joe and Mac know that they must save the girls, and on the way they are going to have to go through many obstacles to get them all back. Get ready for a big adventure!

CHALLENGE:6

Well this game is overall pretty easy, but I tell you that it has it's moments throughout. The first half of this game could be beaten by a 2 year old kid but the second half is a little difficult. The side scrolling takes a little while to get used to if you haven't done it, and fighting a boss after a short level is something to get used to as well. The main thing to know is that you have a lot of life, a fair amount of lives, and a lot of continues, and you should be able to beat this game without spending that much money on it.

REPLAY:8

This game is really fun, and I think that if you play it once that you will be back for more sometime. It is a very highly addictive game, and I think you will enjoy playing it. It is always fun to look at the cave girls after every level hehe. After practice you will get to know each level very well, and the bosses will become easier to defeat and you should have no problems beating it over and over. A definite play again title.

PLAY/MISS:PLAY

I really think that if you see this game in one of your local arcades that you should play it. It is probably hard to find now, but if you see it I really think you should give it a try. It really is a great game, and you will enjoy it for sure. It is worth every coin that you put in the game, and you are sure to be playing it for a while after you begin because it is a very highly addictive game. Make sure that you have fun!

This game is really a truly great game. You will have a great time playing this, and is surely one that you will go back to for more. Caveman Ninja's is a classic side scrolling game for the arcade and is sure to be liked by most everybody. Joe and Mac are very likeable guys, and so are the cave girls. Make sure that if you see this game at the arcade that you slip a coin in and play it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the game value, and the gameplay that it dishes it. Have fun!
