Zero Gunner

Review by Doodleheimer

"I ate my headphones, and they were yummy! Also, never watch Wheel of Fortune without a raincoat."

Zero Gunner is an airplane shooter. It was released by Psikyo or however you spell it, a company that still makes games today. Zero Gunner didn’t see a home console release. Zero Gunner saw a Japanese-only sequel for the arcade and the Dreamcast.

Game Play-
7/10

Zero Gunner is basically a part-3D version of 1942. You must fly and shoot down planes. It seems as though you have an auto shoot. It means that you can only shoot certain planes at once. It doesn't hamper the game that much.

You can get power-ups from certain enemies. You can only get three before your plane is fully powered. You lose all those power-ups when you get hit, though.

Control-
7/10

The game has abnormal control. It doesn't hurt the game, but it doesn't help either. Once you shoot at an enemy, you can only shoot in that direction until the enemy is defeated. The button layout is okay, but it hurts your wrist a little. But that's only if you play the game past the first level.

Graphics-
6/10

The graphics in this game are okay, but I really wanted more detail. The textures are smooth, the graphics are polished, but there’s not enough detail to them.

The scenery in this game is pretty good, but they’ve been seen in every shooter before it. Land, sea, or air, air shooters will be there! The planes and enemies in this game look pretty nice, I may add. I found the different attacks of the airplanes in this game to look nice.

Audio-
Automatic 5

I blame the company that the speakers don't work. How could you, Psikyo? Have you no ****ing shame? Or was it those meddling kids again? Either way, the speakers broke, and there’s no sound coming out of the machine.

Enjoyability-
7/10

Yeah, this is a pretty fun game. I found it to be a pretty addictive shooter. Maybe you will too? *gives deep stare* It’s a pretty fun game, and it’s worth a shot. What have you got to lose? Just 50 cents, that’s all.

Doodleheimer's Recommendationitivity

It's a good shooter. If you liked 1942 or Raiden, then you'll probably like this game. If you've wanted to shoot planes from a weird angle, then this game will be a good fix for you.
