"One of the best 2-D fighters around.."

I remember in 1993 when I was only 14 years old, I would come and spent as much time as I could at the arcades just to play one game..Mortal Kombat II, the very popolar fighting game by Midway simply had it all, exellent gameplay,great visuals,awesome audio and a great storyline, so what could you wish for in a 2-D fighter?
in the upcoming years homeversions came out, but always failed to bring the esact gameplay,visuals and sound the arcade version had, the SNES and genesis versions was alright in gameplay but just the consoles where simply not powerful enough to handle the visuals and sound, the saturn version was almost arcade perfect, but there was minor random delays when you shot projectiles in the game which made it almost unplayable, the best homeversion of MK II was on Playstation, it had as good as arcade perfect visuals and sound, maybe a little to much loading times between the matches but it was still worth it, unfortunely the game never made it to the U.S. and europe it was only released in Japan in a very limeted number of copys, soo in 1997 I got myself a arcade board of MK II and let me say I have never had any regrets about buying it and I to this day still play the game often..

Visuals 10/10
Simply all you could ask for in a 2-D fighter, smooth animations on the characters and nice drawn backgrounds, simply perfect.

Audio 10/10
MK II's soundtrack and sound effects is in my opinion some of the very best ever made in a videogame, from the cathing tunes on verious stages to the screams and awesome sounds when you uppercut or roundhouse a person into the air, just awesome!

Gameplay 10/10
For a 2-D fighter, it has quite much to offer, every character has his own arsenal of unique special moves, diffrent range of of uppecuts and roundhouses and of course the brutal fatalities.

Storyline 10/10
Mortal Kombat has always had a very intresting and great storyline, no wonder two movies where made and a third one in production .

Overall 10/10
Im giving this Mortal Kombat II for arcade a perfect 10 and it deserves no less, the characters are very original, and the visuals,sound and gameplay are simply perfect, the fatalities are also the best in any MK game,and it features 3 stagefatalites,this simply blows everything in this category away, and is a forever classic fighting game.
