Area 51
Review by Count Tyrant
"Another shoot em up, or a great game?"
Well, this game is ok, but not great. You are a marine and have to go to Area 51 (Where else?) and help them stop the mutants/aliens from taking over the base. There are two guns, and it's easier for two people than one. It only costs about a quarter to play now, and it's pretty easy, so go play!
Graphics = 8
The graphics are pretty good, almost real. The projectiles (IE flaming balls of fire, chairs, etc.) are really well done. If you like shoot em ups with great graphics, play Area 51!
Fun Factor = 8
This game is surprisingly, very fun! It's fun blasting all of those mutants into oblivion, as well as hitting all of the secret switches for more points.
Sounds = 4
I guess the sounds are ok, but not great. When the bad guys die, they tend to implode. It sounds a little "squishy." The guns sound ok, and the music is ok too, but it does get a littl annoying.
Story Line = 9
The story line makes sense, unlike other shoot-em-ups. You are a marine from Area 51, or a surrounding are and you have to save Area 51 from aliens and mutants. You also have to stop the aliens from futher infestation of Area 51. You receive help from other marines in the area, but they do not give you much help, mostly they get in the way!
Replayability = 4
This game does not have much replayability. The Aliens/mutants are always in the same place, and it isn't much fun to kill the SAME alien in the SAME place over and over again!
Play Control = 10
What did you expect? It's an arcade game using gus. There really isn't any control.
