"Part 2 again the best part?"
Vampire Hunter
Darkstalkers as we know it in the wild wild west is a very cool Capcom franchise, its streetfighter on steriods with some odd looking ''scary'' creatures of the night including succubus, vampires (doh) mummies and other non-existing legends. This franchise never got as popular as the mighty SF series but its still very cool and in my opinion, the 2nd best fighting series from Capcom. This game features some better gameplay and more characters (Donovan, Pyron Phobos and Lei-Lei) than the first Darkstalkers game.
Well on the review of Vampire hunter / nightwarriors: darkstalkers revenge:
The graphics The graphics are like SFA: bright, colorfull and great character sprites. Victor's and anakaris standstill movements are cool to watch. Also the backgrounds are very nice to see, Victors and Sasquatch are funny (check Dr. gerdenheim flying and all other sasquatches playing and doing weird dances:)) For the rest this is just Capcom at their best, only Savior and MSH top this so: 8/10
The sound In one word: A-W-E-S-O-M-E, yes I love the sound of Vampire hunter more than any other vampire game. Victors, Demitri's and Morrigans stage music are total class and this tops the later Vampire savior in sound about 300 times, i didn't like savior too happy BGM's much. With SFA2 and Marvel vs SF imho the best sounds of all Capcom games: 10/10
Playability the other strongest part of Vampire since chains are so easy and cool to do and super combo's and Es specials doesn't require double performing a motion as in ''more serious'' SNK and SFA games. I also think cheap juggling isn't possible here and the characters move very fast after you input a command. Dead-on as you would expect from Capcom: 9/10
Overall fun But is this game fun when you finished the game or want to play with another few mates? Yes it is, all characters has endings (HA take that VS2!) which are short but they do fit into the darkstalkers storyline, so its worth to finish the game with everyone once. with 2 players its also very cool as you can set auto mode for newbies and possible a speed select mode for speed freaks. this is no different than any other SF game. I would give this also a 9/10
Before i forget: Well what about that ''Part 2 again the best? You see my favorite SFA game is..... SFA2, favorite SF3 game is SF3 2ndI (the 2nd SF3 game), favorite Tekken game is Tekken and ow Favorite movie is Terminator 2, this is really my truth. And this game is no different. Its _for me_ the best Vampire game without doubt leaving the original and Savior behind.
How to play?
The game is hard to get but it was released on saturn in Japan and America at the end of 96 and also in the arcades a few months before that. On saturn it does miss some sprites since the ram cards didn't exist back then but its a flawless conversion in every other way. If you still have Sega's Saturn or even better; a cps2 cabinet and can get the game for a good price; just do it!
