Marvel vs. Capcom

Review by ProtoZero

"Marvel AND Capcom? Sounds good to me."

Marvel vs. Capcom is the coolest arcade game I have ever played. It is an awesome fighting game that combines Marvel Comics and Capcom games!

Story: 9/10 The story is simply characters from Capcom and Marvel can fight. It puts Ryu and MegaMan in a game with Captain America and Spiderman. It combines characters from different worlds and lets them fight each other. Their really is not a story because it is a fighting game but it was a really great idea.

Graphics: 10/10 The graphics for the time it was made were incredible. The moves have different looks and the characters are detailed. It all looks great and are especially good for arcade.

Music/Sound: 8/10 The sound is great. The characters make noises as they use moves. They talk and grunt like they would in a real battle. The music is not that good thought. It does not really mess up the gameplay because you are fighting. The sound drowns out the music. The music is not great but the sound makes up for it.

Gameplay:9/10: The gameplay deserves a solid 10. You can play as a lot of different characters. Including Capcom's Ryu, MegaMan, and Strider. Also Marvel's Wolverine, Spiderman, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, and many more. Each character has there own set of moves. The moves may be hard to learn at first. You may find yourself just pressing buttons. It becomes easier as you play it. The fighting is cool because the battles are two vs. two. So you can have your two favorite characters as a tag team. They don't all fight at the same time. Once one of your fighters goes down, the other comes in. Or you can switch them during the battle. You can fight the computer or your friends. Marvel vs. Capcom has great gameplay because of the many characters with their own set of moves. The only problem is that the controls are kinda weird. I mainly just press buttons and hope for the best. I dont know how to do any moves but I somehow find a way to anyway.

Replay Value: 6/10 Marvel vs. Capcom is a great game to play over again. You can play with many characters. You can fight the computer or one of your friends. The fights are fun and can be done many times. However, it could get boring after you fought enough times because fighting is the only thing you can do. After a few rounds I usually quit, its not exactly addicting. I like the battles and I play this game at the arcade every chance I get. The replay is not perfect but it is still good.

Overall: 7/10 This game is the best fighting game I have played. You can play with your favorite character from Marvel and Capcom. The next time you are in the arcade, I recommend you play Marvel vs. Capcom.
