Total Carnage

Review by gtdjznvgamefaqz

"Insert Coin"

This game is the sequel to Midway's Smash TV. The game plays the same and has similar enemies and power-ups. This game allows 2 players at the same time. Similar to Robotron, this game is a dual joystick game. The left stick is used to control the movement of the player and the right joystick controls the direction of fire. You control either Captain Carnage or Major Mayhem. They look exactly the same save the colour of their helmets (blue and red).

Game play - 5 - The controls are quite responsive. Shooting and moving takes some getting used to but eventually you'll get used to it.
The biggest fault in the game is the difficulty. This is one of the cheapest games EVER made. The game designers didn't make this game to be fun or enjoyable. They made this game to drain the money from your wallet.
The game constantly barrages you with waves of enemies. At times there are a few hundred monsters/soldiers rushing at you. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere without putting more money into the game.
The bosses in this game are even more ridiculous. The bosses will drain your money faster than a day at the casino. You will be spending several minutes to take down one percent of the enemy’s health. Meanwhile you have already died a dozen times. You will be very frustrated.

Story - 3 - You must save the world from the evil pollution causing general. The baddie has about one billion soldiers and just as many mutant monsters. The good guys come up with the perfect solution. Send in two guys to take down the countless hoards and save the many hostages. How original.

Audio/Video - 7 - The music isn't very memorable. Some of the sound effects are funny though. Though after hearing, ''You suck'' and ''No Way!'' one hundred times, you will get tired of it.
The graphics are semi-decent. There are many explosions and LOTS of blood (mostly your blood and you getting blown sky high).

Replayability - 2 - Once you complete the game, you will wonder where your life's savings has disappeared. The game has a few different endings. Not to ruin it for you, but the endings are pathetic. If you spend twenty dollars to end a game, you want to see something decent. There is little to no replay value here.

Aside from the tiny bits of humour here and there, this game isn't really that good. This game is far too hard and expensive to play. They should have a slot to insert your debt/credit card.
