"Fancy footwork and great tunes"
Dance Dance Revolution, the arcade game that has people showing off their stuff in arcades across the world combines great tunes with fancy footwork to provide one of the most fun arcade games out there. Get people to play along with you in its two player mode and explore the multitude of songs and difficulties that make this game so addictive!
Gameplay: 10/10
I first heard about this game on the news as people gave testimonials to how great of a workout they were getting from playing DDR. I found it at an arcade and decided to give it a shot. I found out I was pretty decent at it, and since then, I've searched for it at every arcade I've gone to. With characters dancing along with you on the screen as you try your hardest to keep up with the rhythm, the can't help but appreciate how simple yet how fun it is. The flashing lights and colorful system also add to the environment that just makes you want to dance.
Graphics: 9/10
When it first game out, the graphics appeared to be much more detailed to me than they do now. The only reason for this is because of the advancements in videogaming technology, so you can't blame the makers of DDR. Besides, when playing the game, you don't even care to look at the characters dancing (they pull off some pretty cool moves by the way). You're concentrating too hard on the floating arrows to mind the graphics.
Sounds: 10/10
The songs that are in this game are simply astounding. There's a variety of artists and styles, but each has a unique beat which makes you want to try each one.
Control: 10/10
There's only four buttons you use to play this game: up, down, left, right. When the arrows on the screen line up with an outlines of the arrows at the top, you press the corresponding button below your feet. How much simpler could that be? Yet it still provides enough for insane combinations that DDR masters can pull off with no trouble at all.
Replayability: 10/10
It's likely that the enthusiastic DDR player will spend tens to hundreds of hours playing this game, and it's just as much fun each time. Once you master a level difficulty, you move on to the next, which incorporates newer, faster combinations for you to experience. Another bonus which makes this game so much fun to constantly play is the exercise you get from a session. It's an efficient and entertaining way to work out. Plus, once you get good enough, you can show off to your friends how good you are (they'll even get impressed by easy mode) =P
Now that you've learned more about this game, go out and give it a shot for yourself! You're guaranteed to get a kick out of it!
