Crisis Zone

Review by THAguyINgta3

"All It Needs Is A Multiplayer Option"

Crisis Zone is probably my favorite arcade game. It is kind of popular at my arcade. It came out back in 1999 and people still play it regularly. That just shows how good it is. There are usually lines to play it so it is kind of hard to get to play. Well one day, no one was on the machine. I slipped my quarter into the slot, and proceeded to play one of the best arcade games of all time.

To control the game, all you have is a gun and this little step thing. Now when you want to shoot, you step on the step and your guy comes out of hiding. You have to let go of it if you want to duck or reload your magazine. Very easy controls.

The gameplay is almost identical to the Time Crisis series. Now that I think about it, almost every aspect of the game is identical. Well anyways, you are like a SWAT team guy or something and you have to kill terrorists. Sounds easy enough. Well that's because it is. The only thing stopping you from beating the game with one quarter is the fact that you can only be shot a few times and there is a time limit. Nevertheless, it can be beaten with two dollars or so.

The levels are pretty sweet. They are mostly public areas like stores and crap. The game is on rails so you just blast baddies then move on to the next area. You can pick areas in the game to go to after you clear one, which adds replay value.

Overall, this is one of the funnest light gun games that I have ever played. The game is almost exactly like Time Crisis, except you always have an automatic weapon, which I think is funner to have. Overall, great gameplay.

The graphics are good. They look just like Time Crisis. Everything looks good. The character animations are kind of funny. Like, if you shoot a guy then shoot him a few more times, he will just keep flinching around for a while until they decide to make him fall. Pretty funny. The sound is good. The guns sound cool. Overall, good sound and graphics.

This is probably one of the only arcade games that I would like to own. You will like this game if you liked games like Time Crisis or any light gun games in general. I suggest you take $100, get it all in quarters, buy $5 worth of candy, and then go blow the rest on this machine. Game until the arcade closes.
