Crisis Zone

Review by Terry C.Y.H.

"If you played it once, twice, then play it again!"

Crisis Zone, the next and 3rd sequal to TimeCrisis. This time Namco did a revamp and turn the whole game back onto one player mode. So much for the fun in TimeCrisis II when two player wits it out. There hasnt been much change, the sound effects are mere same as before and so are the graphics. The baddies in the game has changed though, new outfits, new responses and lifes for instance. Now Crisis Zone features life count in the enemies you shoot. Each will have a life bar on top of them when you hit them with your bullets. And most can be killed by either one shot or a good shot to the head. The gun has changed too. Now instead of being trigger happy like in TimeCrisisII, you just hold onto the trigger and it will spray bullets with up to 30 for your use per round. At least that cut short the pain that you get from triggering your gun everytime are you needed to. The boss in the stages are much harder to defeat as most of them consist of multiple bosses, some like the tank, needs lots of shots in many places and yet, end up with two more chainguns in the end to finish off. Obstacles in the way can be shot down or broken off. Dodging off bullets may seem easy but if you stay on the TCII way, you will end up with less lifes and some area may be much tricker at first when you need to dodge more and much longer. From where I played, the set was tuned to 3lives, but Im not sure if its the same elsewhere. Well for now, keep playing the awesome shooter game by Namco. Its new, so spend more tokens like you use to and you will get the hang of it.
