"It's like Tekken characters in a Marvel vs Capcom game!!!"

Namco suddenly has an intuition! Why not create something like Marvel vs Capcom but using only Tekken characters? Indeed, there's how the Tekken Tag Tournament came about.

Think about it! Why do people line up in the arcade and wait for a chance to play a tag team fighting game by Capcom? Obviously, this tag team concept does have some sort of 'charm' in it.

If you have played Capcom's Marvel vs Capcom before or any other similar Capcom fighting game like X-men vs Street Fighter etc, you probably have an idea of what the tag team tournament play like.

As the words, 'Tag Team' suggests, you team up with another character, meaning you can choose up to a total of two players. Like any other Capcom tag team games, you can switch to another character whenever you wish so the concept is like when one is fighting, another one is resting. Of course, that's not all!

Because of the new tag team feature, there are more strategies involved than in the usual Tekken one-on-one fighting style. Depending on which team you choose, you can expect unique, devastating tag combos.

If these aren't enough, you can expect tons of hidden characters, [with a total of over 30 characters...That's quite a lot, right?] new costumes for characters and yes, even new moves. [That includes Tekken characters from the past also! A collection of Tekken fighters???]

Running on Namco's system 12 board just like Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament has enhanced graphics. Cameras now zoom in slighly more closer than before and some of the characters' facial expressions have some new touch-ups. Of course, you can expect some characters to remain the same as before. Anyway, expect more smoother polygonal characters and more detailed backgrounds.

The music and sound, as of expected from Namco, are top-notch. Expect to hear many familiar tunes from the past Tekken games. The sound is incredible......almost every punch or kick that you make is......

The arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament looks very promising. With a new tag team feature, new costumes for characters, extra new moves, countless hidden characters, and enhanced graphics etc, it seems like it will be able to satisfy Tekken fans to the fullest. Once again, Namco has outdone themselves.

What do you think???:

I know that there are quite a number of reviewers who gave Tekken Tag Tournament a score less than 7. I believe it's because that Tekken Tag Tournament looks and plays much like its previous predecessor, giving reasons such as having enough of Tekken and yearning for games like Soul Calibur, having 'identical' graphics or having too many recycled characters etc. But, face it! This isn't a true Tekken sequel. That's why it's not called Tekken 4 and called Tekken Tag Tournament. In my opinion, it's more like an expansion package of Tekken. So, what's wrong if the graphics or characters are similar? Unless it's a sequel and it's called Tekken 4, then i have nothing else to say! Yes, the graphics may not be as good as Namco's Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, but talk about true fighting games and realistism, Tekken really has it! After all, graphics will get 'old' after years but what remains is the awesome gameplay!
