"Not the best but still not a bad game..."

Introduction:

For people who don't know what Metal Slug is then let me give you a little info on it. Metal Slug is an arcade game that was revolutionary (to me) because I wasn't used to fast paced side scrollers that had good graphics and detail. The point of the game is to go around and basically shoot who ever is after you. Yes, Yes, although it doesn't really have a story you will learn to love the game. But something I like is that you get to choose your character. But the problem is that they don't do anything different. They all shoot the same way and do everything the same. When I started playing it for the first time I thought it wasn't that great because there was no story. But by the time I stuck my 2nd quarter in I was hooked. Because its kind of like a stealth game, (if you choose to play it like one). You can dodge there weapons with ease if you practice enough. And the best part of the game is that as long as you have enough money you can keep playing it as much as you want since its a coin-op.

Gameplay: 8/10

Here is the main area that defines if the game is good or not, and I have to say that this game is great in gameplay. Another major part of gameplay in this game that there are lots of weapons. Some of the weapons are pistols, machine gun, and even a laser to name a few. The reason I did not give this game a 10/10 on gameplay is because the lack of vehicles it had.

Story: 3/10

Well I don't have anything to say here because all you do is shoot people up. Although you can get an idea of the story by looking at your surroundings and the people your killing.

Graphics: 7/10

Definately not the best graphics for even a 2D side scroller, but not the worst. Graphics have there own unique style that can look real good at times, depending on the special affects that are going on.

Sound: 10/10

The sound is really good because there's not much sound fx that they could have made since there's so little. But they did good on the sound in just about all the fx.

Replayability: 10/10

Of course Metal Slug has replayability. There is so much replay value in this game. Even if you may get bored with it (which I highly doubt) it will be a great game for you and your friends to go to the arcade with or play at home if you have a Neo-Geo system.

Buy/Play at Arcades

Definately put money into buying a Neo-Geo system for this game. It will bring you hours of enjoyment and replayability.
