Area 51

"Bang! Boom! Tat-tat-tat-tat!"

I am a big fan of light gun games and this is one of my all time favorite. As far as am concerned shooting aliens never get too old or expensive. It's easy to have fun or a little or alotta money.

Story:8/10
Run into a military base that has been taken over by aliens and kill all of them. This is a simple and possibly over used formula, but it still works great for this game. However the same people seem to appear along side you no matter how many lives you lose shooting them, and they always have the big guns, but never use them, maybe they should.

Graphics:9/10
The graphics are good considering when it was realesed. The aliens look 2-Dish but it still flows smoothly. The blood/body-parts are done well. The back grounds are descent enough and unlike some other games you can tell the hand gun, shotgun, and machine gun bullets apart. You can see the detail put into the aliens when they pop up in front of you and try and punch you.

Sounds:8/10
The gun shots are very well done and realistic. The music is hard to hear with all the gun fire and explosions but these sound so well its easy to forget about background music, when it is there is the usual guitar music. The best sound is the heavy shotgun blast. It makes you fell like your exchangeing live fire with the alien scum. Their laser sounds aren't to bad ether.

Gameplay:10/10
It lives up to all other light gun games. You can play with a friend or go solo. If you play with two people you can help each other out because the game doesn't limit you to one side of the screen like some light gun games. It has power-up and they help when you fight the harder to kill purple aliens and the last boss. Other wise the handgun serves fine. You can start in the start of the game or in the middle, the start is better so you can get more of the ever helpful grenades. I had 5 lives for $.50 so it was good and was too expensive.

Overall:10/10
This is a good game if your first venturing into light gun games. Its not too hard or too easy and the gun aim and response time is good. The replay value is good because you can try for the highest rank+score. The graphics are old but its still easy to have fun and bust all your money at the same time. This is a must play for light gun game fans.
