Killer Instinct 2

Review by MLaw3k

"Contender for Greatest Fighter Ever Title!"

-Graphics 10/10-

The graphics in this game are some of the best I've seen in a fighting game in a long while. If the thought the original have good graphics, you will be amazed by what you see in this incarnation. From the character sprites and animations to the stages I guarantee a visual orgasm!

-Sound 9/10-

I don't know who make the music for KI2 but they sure did a good job. Naturally each stage has its own music but, in KI2 the background music seems to be specifically suited to its ummmm.... background. For example there is a female character which resembles an Amazonian warrior, so naturally her stage is in the jungle. However the music for her stage seems to enhance this fact and generate a greater sense of authenticity to it.

-Controls 10/10-

One word, Perfect. I doubt the controls in this game will be equaled by any game soon. No Lie! I mean it! Of course as with any game it will take some getting used to, but as soon as it does... Oh boy! The controls are very responsive meaning that those big combos (with practice) will be a cinch. Moves are also easy to pull off, the only time you have trouble is either when you are new to the game or if someone at your arcade is messing around with your controls while you’re playing. It’s that simple.

-Gameplay 10/10

The main attraction of this game is its gameplay; more over than that it’s combo system. Dwarfing 4 hit combo the average Street Fighter player can do this game goes over the top with it’s combo system, giving virtually no limit to the number of hits you can rack up. Of course when you start you may find the lengthy combos more difficult, but as you progress it becomes so much easier. They also add in auto doubles which are basically an extra two hits that are done with a single touch of a button in combos making those high numbered combos slightly more attainable. This game is great because of the fact that basic combos can be done using basic the same formula for all characters. It goes something like this:

Special move, Auto Double, Special Move (ender)

Simple.

Of course as you improve you add more this which is another positive thing about this game, its flexibility.

-Overall 10/10

Overall this game has to be one the best fighting games ever! No exaggeration. From the beautifully rendered 3D graphics to the in depth combo system, the game is definitely to not one to be missed!!!!
