Fantasy Zone
Review by K0LDSTeeL
"An under rated game, but very challenging to beat."
This is one my favorites from the yester years of arcade games. Of course, with all the Sega games in the non-gaming era, they are rare, under rated, none the less, a classic. I prefer the game style in old school games. You should look around for this game some day. The arcade system that Sega made was one the best out in the mid 80s(well of course Sega was an arcade game company basically). This was due to 16-bit graphics and awsome sound processor in machine itself.
Graphics 10/10
WOW. Sega's arcade machine was powerful beast in the mid 80s! Very nice 16-bit graphics, very nice and well done. I found the animation very good in this game, especially when the floating dudes die. I was little downed about the death animation of Opa-Opa, just a bunc of little blue stars.
Sound / Music 10/10
Again, WOW. Very well done music, which I liked. The first stage has some good music, but later on it gets way better, and I DO MEAN WAY BETTER. I forgot which level it was, but it had really cool music.
Control 10/10
Very simplistic controls, which I love to see in games. You can see this in my Sega Master System version of this game, so I won't be repeating myself. Thats all this machine had, 2 joysticks(one for player 1 and one for player 2) and 2 buttons per player, that was simplicity.
Challenge 8/10
A very good challenge for any gamer. After spending all those quarters on Fantasy Zone, you ask tell yourself that was really fun. Most games I play now adays doesn't have that challenge, do a little, the games over, here it is different, you do alot.
Replay 8/10
Not much replay either, beat the game, thats basically it, but you can have a friend time you:)
Finally, this game is really fun to play, either on emulator or finding the actual arcade game itself(go ahead, try it).
