"Nine out of Ten doctors recommend not playing this game"

Crime Fighters is another one of the classic arcade beat em up games. Crime Fighters was out during the days of Double Dragon and Final Fight; when beat em ups were a big deal, unfortunately this doesn't make it a good game. Read on to find out why

Story 1/10
A fat guy and his bodyguard captures a bunch of girls and your mission is to save them and perform some vigilante justice while you're at it. Not the coolest of storylines. Some more thought could of went into the storyline. This storyline was used in many other games as well.

Graphics 1/10
Nothing special, almost the same type of graphics you would see on a Nes or Master System at the time. The main characters of the game are all drawn the same but except with different color clothes. A little more work went into the bosses but they aren't that much better. There's a Freddy Krueger look-a-like, a crazy punk rocker with a Mohawk and a rogue boxer to name a few. They are quite funny to look at it but don't make the graphics that much better. The game looks like it was originally suspose to be for the Nes or Master System but instead just slapped into the arcades.

Sounds 1/10
What music and sounds? There isn't much in the game. The sound effects are louder then the music, the only time you will notice the music is when you fight a boss. What music there is in the game is nothing special. The music is something you would hear in a grocery store or a dentist's office. Very disappointing. The sounds are just cracks, thuds and bangs. Nothing stands out in the sound effect department, in fact you'll get tired of them quick

Gameplay 1/10
Very boring a repetitive. There's a punch button, kick, and jump. If you press jump and kick together your character will do a wimpy jump kick that will miss 99% of the time. At times it seems like hits do not register. You have to be almost inside of an enemy to hit them, also when you manage to finally knock an enemy down you have to kick them. If you aren't exactly in the middle of a downed enemy your kick won't register and the enemy will get back up and by that time you are already getting blasted by the other 800 enemies on the screen.

Worth playing or Not?
If you are into fighting games and have never played this before, it's worth playing one time through. If you don't like fighting games or have trouble with them stay away you'll be doing yourself and your money a favor.
