Vs. Wild Gunman

Review by Buff McNoggin

"Check this out kid. I'm a crack shot."

Wild Gunman. The arcade version. Up until this point some of you may have thought it never existed. Some of you may have thought it was just some made up game from the movie "Back to the Future Part II". Believe or not, like the Mr.T cereal, this was a real thing. It was part of the Playchoice 10 arcade line up. Playchoice 10 was made by Nintendo. The Playchoice 10 arcade game let you select from ten NES console games for play upon entering a quarter. Games like Wild Gunman. Nintendo would do this again later with the Nintendo Super System arcade game. This arcade game let you play SNES games.

Story
You are a gunman who is ready to duel some rowdy old west gang members.
10/10

Gameplay/Controls
You have three modes of play. One Gang Member, two gang member, and gang. In one gang member, the game goes like this. The gang member will walk out. He will face you. There will be a short amount of time before a man yells "FIRE"! You have to use the gun connected to the machine to fire before the opponent gets you. If you win, the opponent will fall or have some other animation to show he lost. If you lose, the screen will turn red. The next opponent will come out if you have lives left. To describe the two other modes is easy. In two gang members you have to fire at two gunners quickly. In gang mode you have to kill multiple opponents quickly. In winning or losing you have the time of your firing and your opponents. It will be shown at the outcome of the duel. You also have a reward money number and score. 10/10

Graphics
The graphics are identical to the console version. There not great but they are not bad either. The game wanted you to focus on the task at hand and didn't want you to be distracted. You have the dark blue sky of the desert. No clouds. Just a simple dark blue. You have a dark green ground with some plants here and there. There is a rock formation in the horizon. Last but not least there is a cactus one side of screen. One final touch so you know where you are at. 7/10

Sound
The gun blast is cool. It really gets you into the game. Its sounds like the opponent really got pummeled. The sound of the guy yelling fire is loud and clear. You have some old west music when the gun fighter walks out. The music is some good pre-duel march music. 10/10

Replay Value
A good challenge for anyone who thinks they fast hands in this kind of gaming.
10/10

Final Reccomendation
Play this if you can find it. You may have to go to the way back area in an arcade to find this one.
