"Simply Classic"

Asteroids. This simple but fun game is a great arcade classic that you can pretty much play on any game web sites around. This is a fun and addictive game that everyone should give a try.

Gameplay:
Your ship is the triangle in the middle of the screen. Your goal: Shoot the things that are flying across the screen that look like rocks. These are the asteroids (hints the name of the game"Asteroids"). As simple as this sound, you would be surprised at how strangely addictive it really is.

The controls to this game are fairly simple. If you are playing on the computer then the controls usually are the arrow keys to move the ship and the space bar to fire the gun. If you are playing this game on the actual arcade machine, then you use the joy stick to move and the button to shoot.

Graphics & Sound:
The graphics in Asteroids are not that great by today's standards. But back then they were probably average for an arcade game. Your ship is in the shape of a triangle and the asteroids look like popcorn.

The sound in this game is pretty simple. There is a bleeping noise when you shoot your gun and a muffled explosion noise when you crash into or shoot an asteroid. There is nothing else I can say about the sound in this game.

Replayability:
This game has great replayability value to it. You can play this game a lot and it will not get boring. It is fun to see how high you can get the highscore and then playing again to see if you can beat it.

Final Recommendation:
I would recommend that you try this game out. You can download it onto your computer at a lot different web sites. That is what I did. If you see the old Asteroids arcade machine then you should pick it up because this is the type of game that you can go back and play anytime without it getting very old.
