Basically, this guide is my property. I wrote it, and therefore I own it. Here
is a partial list of things you, as a reader, are not allowed to do with this
guide:
> Do not take this guide and place it on your webpage. It was written for
GameFAQs, and the only two places it shall call home are GameFAQs and my hard
drive.
> Do not take any portion of this guide (or the guide as a whole) and claim
that you wrote it. That's stealing, pure and simple. If I catch you with my
stolen work, there will be consequences.
> Do not link directly to this guide's space on GameFAQs. Not only does it
make it look like you wrote it (which you didn't), it is also a direct
violation of GameFAQs' personal linking policy.
> Do not sell this guide in any way, even if you don't take credit for writing
it. I'm doing this for free, not to turn a profit, and therefore you have no
right to make a profit from this.

3. Contact Information
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Before I give you my e-mail address, here are some general rules you should
follow to make sure I read and reply to your letter.
> Please add something to the beginning of the subject line that lets me know
that your email is about my guide. Just adding "G-NOME" to the front of your
subject line will let me know to read it. I get quite a bit of spam, so if you
don't add something for me, I might mistake your letter for spam and delete it.
Also, if my filter accidentally puts your letter in the spam folder, I will be
able to see that subject and save your letter before I empty out my spam folder.
> Decent spelling and grammar is required. You don't have to be perfect, but I
have to be able to understand what you are saying. Any AIM/l33t/n00b/whatever
speak will be deleted instantly.
> Don't ask anything that is already clearly explained in the guide. For
example, a letter that reads "How do you change your IFF code?" will get
deleted, as that is already explained in the guide. However, a letter that
reads "Can you be clearer as to what you mean in your strategy for Mission
3-2?" will be answered.
> Any letters that insult me (example: "haha u play mech games u r a fag") or
my work will be deleted. I do not really care about your opinion of me and the
games I play. So, go ahead and waste 20 minutes of your life writing me a
letter saying how much you think I suck. It'll get deleted in 5 seconds while I
laugh to myself about how sad you are.
Okay, with that out of the way, my e-mail address is mjc0961@stny.rr.com

4. Basic Controls That You Should Know
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Okay, now for the good stuff. This section is devoted to the controls you
need to know in order to beat the game. I suggest you set these where you
want, and write them down because if you change them the in-game objectives
will tell you the standard control for an action, for example, you set the
"closest enemy" button to G, but the game will still tell you to push E for
that action. All the controls can be found in the Options menu by clicking on
Interface in the left menu bar.
@ Fire Weapons 1-4: Can't fight if you can't find your weapons
@ Turn Left
@ Turn right
@ Increase Throttle: More throttle = more speed
@ Decrease Throttle: Less throttle = less speed, if you go past just
being stopped you will go in reverse
@ Pitch up: used for aiming
@ Pitch down
@ Stop
@ Center torso: Use after fighting with auto-tracking to see where you're
going again
@ Comm channels 1-4: for talking to your allies
@ Eject
@ Next Target
@ Inspect Target: This tells you what you're targeting, and if it's
occupied or not
@ Auto-Tracking: this will try and aim at the current target for you
@ Next waypoint
@ IFF digits 1-4: needed twice to complete missions, also used in other
missions to control Pop-Up Turrets
Also not in the list but still important, press B to view a map and your
list of objectives. This is useful in case you forget something or get lost.

5. Battle Strategies
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
This is where I will build a collection of different types of strategies.
You can send me your personal strategies so that they may help others. I will
give you full credit for them.
@ RedHot Bottleneck: Have an Airborne Insurgence Platform cross the
river, raise the other team's bridge, and blow the Control Building to
smithereens while the rest of the team crosses the other bridge. Then
the platform should go back and raise their bridge, but don't destroy
the Control Building. Now the only way for the other team to reach
your HQ is to get an Airborne Insurgence Platform of their own.

6. Walkthrough
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Your name: Joshua Gant. Your mission: Find the G-Nome and destroy it.
Watch the introduction movie (when it loads with the 7th LEVEL screen, keep
watching) or listen to the Pre-Briefing under the Mission list for more
details. Once you have, and have set your controls, select Game on the bottom
menu and then select new. I recommend you complete the training missions to
get a feel for the game. Before I begin I will show you how I set things up.
>Mission ?-?: ??????????? -The mission number and name
Mission Summary: I will give you some background info on this mission
Mission Objectives -The game's preset objectives (except the training ones,
I made those myself)
@ Primary: ???????????
How to complete the objective will appear here
@ ???????????
And that's it! So get ready to play! I will start with the training
missions first.
>Mission 0-1: HAWC Refresher
@ Destroy the abandoned Union Headquarters
When instructed, find and destroy the only building on the map.
@ Eject from your vehicle
After destroying the HQ, eject your vehicle
>Mission 0-2: Advanced HAWC
@ Primary: Destroy Scorp Meson Guard Tower
Actually, it's a Union Meson Guard Tower occupied by a Scorp Imperial
Warrior. But anyway, your instructor will tell you how to get to the
Tower, how to target it, and how to destroy it.
@ Reach Waypoint One
Your instructor will tell you how to select waypoints, and then tell
you to go to waypoint one. Go there to complete the objective.
>Mission 0-3: G-Nome Tactics
@ Catch a ride to the Scorp base
Enter the Union Armored Support Vehicle and wait until it goes there,
then eject.
@ Occupy the Scorp Rocket Tower
Use the GASHR rocket launcher to make the Scorp Warrior inside the
tower eject, then kill him and enter the tower by running into it.
@ Signal to the Union Armored Support Vehicle
Once inside the Rocket Tower, press F1 to bring up the communications
menu. Push F9 to signal.
@ Destroy the Pop-Up Control Building
Target the building and press the Auto-Tracking button to target it,
then shoot at it.
And that completes you training. But can you survive in more intense
combat? Let's find out. Oh, and for your reference, this was written on Easy
mode, so if numerical values of enemies are different, you'll know why.
>Mission 1-1: Renegade Mercs
Nothing fancy here, just use a Union Sentry HAWC to reach the Darken
frontier. Oh, and destroy that pesky Merc raiding party while you're
there.
@ Head for waypoint one
Select waypoint one and go there.
@ Primary: Destroy Merc raiding party
Nothing too hard, just destroy the two Merc HAWCs in this area. If
your HAWC is destroyed, you can use the GASHR weapon to steal a Merc
HAWC, but kill the Merc solider that comes out first, or he will use
his GASHR on you.
>Mission 1-2: Drawbridge
You've made it to the Darken frontier. Now you need to cross the River
Angada to reach the Darken Republic. Oh, and Kylie is having trouble
reaching the Darken border. We'll help him later.
@ Commandeer Darken vehicle
Find the unoccupied Darken Sentry HAWC and get inside. There are some
Darken Infantry hiding behind the rocks. You can take them out or just
ignore them.
@ Primary: Lower bridge and cross River Angada
Near the Darken HAWC is the bridge and a Bridge Control Unit. Eject
from the HAWC when you reach them and enter the Bridge Control Unit.
Using the mouse, flip the switch on the left wall to lower the bridge.
@ Avoid Sweep Turret. Eject if surrounded.
After lowering the bridge, get back in the HAWC and cross the bridge.
Soon after you do, a Darken commander will tell you that you have
twenty seconds to return the stole Darken vehicle. Eject and the
mission is complete.
>Mission 1-3: Convoy
Kylie has left coded messages for you at the Darken HQ at Chansk. Use
any means necessary to retrieve them.
@ Primary: Enter Darken HQ at Chansk
After the Darken Convoy reaches the area with Rocket Towers and the HQ,
eject from the vehicle and go into the HQ. Try to wait until all the
vehicles in the convoy get behind the HQ before you eject, because one
you are out of your vehicle, they will see your human uniform and attack
you regardless of your IFF code. If you're all behind the HQ, it makes
it harder for them to step on you, and harder for the Rocket Towers to
hit you. YOU MUST COMPLETE OBJECTIVES TWO AND FOUR IN ORDER TO COMPLETE
THIS OBJECTIVE!
@ Obtain IFF code from Motor Pool
After entering a Union HAWC, destroy the Sweep Turret and Darken
Armored Support Vehicle by waypoint one, enter the Motor Pool and write
down the IFF code. Eject, and change your IFF code to the code you
found in the Motor Pool before re-entering your HAWC. If you have to
restart the mission, know that the IFF codes change and you have to go
get the new one. For some reason, I never bothered to mention HOW you
change your IFF code, so here it is: the buttons U, I, O, and P cycle
the digits of your IFF code. One button for each digit.
@ Commandeer Union HAWC
Located near waypoint one are a Union Sentry HAWC and a Union Tactical
Defense HAWC. Pick whichever one you like and get inside.
@ Join Darken convoy to Chansk
After setting completing objective two, find the convoy of one Darken
Sentry HAWC and two Darken Tactical Defense HAWCs. Approach them, and
the Darken Commander from the last mission will tell you to identify
yourself by signaling on communications band two. Then a communication
box will appear. Press F9 to signal, and the Darken commander will let
you join them. Travel with them to Chansk. You MUST stay with them,
because if you travel ahead on your own, you'll get attacked regardless
of your IFF code.
>Mission 1-4: LATLON
Kylie's cover is blown! Some attacking Mercs recognized him. He's
heading inland. If you can reach the LATLON Communications Array, you
should be able to dial into his radio signal.
@ Primary: Enter and Disable LATLON array
Complete objectives two and three and enter the LATLON Communications
Array and wait for the computer to say "Communication Acquired."
@ Defeat facility defenses
At waypoint one, there is a Darken Meson Guard Tower, an Electro-
chemical Power Plant, the LATLON Communications Array, two Darken
Sentry HAWCs, and an unoccupied Darken Tactical Defense HAWC. Destroy
the Darken Sentry HAWCs, then focus your fire on the Electro-chemical
Power Plant. This will shut down the Meson Guard Tower.
@ Destroy Shield Generator
After shutting down the Meson Tower, find the Shield Generator and head
for it. There is a Rocket Tower defending it, and another Darken
Sentry HAWC if it didn't come after you when you attacked the other two
Sentry HAWCs. Take out the HAWC, Tower, and then finally the Shield
Generator.
@ Destroy LATLON/Evacuate Area
After acquiring communication from the LATLON, activate the self-
destruct command (hold control and press 86), then eject. Enter then
nearby unoccupied Darken Tactical Defense HAWC and get out of there.
When the LATLON blows, you win.
>Mission 1-5: Rescue!
Kylie's sent a message to the Union. He's heading for Chamber's Pass,
and he needs you to be there in twenty-four hours. Did I mention he sent
this message yesterday? You had better get moving. Now that the LATLON
Communications Array is destroyed, the Darken forces in this area can't
communicate with each other. Take advantage of this by fighting the
Darken forces in single engagements.
@ Primary: Cross bridge at Chambers Pass. Contact Kylie.
Lower and cross the bridge at waypoint one. Actually, waypoint one is
on the bridge itself. Just get across the bridge. After completing
Objectives 1-3, head for the Bridge Control Unit, located near the
shield generator. The Bridge Control Unit isn't shielded, so don't
waste ammo destroying the generator.
@ Defeat Meson Tower.
Near the bridge is a Meson Guard Tower and an Electro-chemical Power
Plant. Take out the plant or the tower. It's your choice, but it's
safer to run past the tower and go behind the power plant. The tower
won't shoot at you from there, and if it did it would probably hit the
plant instead. Too bad the plant is shielded or you could just run
inside and activate the self-destruct sequence.
@ Defeat Security forces
Destroy or commandeer the Darken Armored Support Vehicle, Sentry HAWC,
and Tactical Defense HAWC. I say destroy or commandeer because you
only have to kill the driver, if you need to steal their HAWC because
yours blew up, that's fine.
@ Set IFF to 0024
Set your HAWC's IFF code to 0024. Not the most difficult task in the
world unless you forgot how.
>Mission 2-1: Dropship Rendezvous
Now that you and Kylie are in Merc territory, you need to find Dr. Thane,
and quickly. Head for the nearby town of Abor and acquire
transportation.
@ Obtain Transportation
Occupy the nearby Merc Tactical Defense HAWC.
@ Primary: Rendezvous with Union HAWCs
When you reach Waypoint one, Bendian Mercenaries will steal the Union
HAWCs. Now complete objective 3
@ Proceed to Waypoint 2.
Reach Waypoint two. On the way there, Kylie will enter a Merc Weapon
Depot and Refinery. You should occupy the nearby Merc Rocket Tower and
kill the Bendian Mercenaries that appear. Once Kylie goes back to his
HAWC, you should finish you trip to waypoint two. When you get there,
Kylie will notice that the Union delivered two more HAWCs for you.
Mission complete.
>Mission 2-2: River Race
There's a leak somewhere in the Union Federation. The Mercs knew where
and when those HAWCs were coming. The entire drop ship crew was lost.
It is now assumed that Thane is in danger. She's in a remote outpost in
the Spang-Cho basin. You need to get to her before the Mercs do.
@ Primary: Cross Spang River, destroy LATLON
Raise the bridge over the Drisc River, lower the bridge over the Spang
River, and cross the Spang River. Then complete objective 3.
@ Use unoccupied Meson Tower
There is a Merc Meson Guard Tower by the two rivers. Use it to take
out any Merc forces in the area.
@ Destroy LATLON array
There is a Merc LATLON Communications Array at waypoint 2, along with
some Merc forces, and a Shield Generator. Destroy the Mercs and the
array. You can just run inside the array and make it self-destruct,
it's not shielded.
>Mission 2-3: Canyon Maze
Thane is in a small village at the end of the Flasen Gorge. She'll be
waiting for you at the end of the gorge.
@ Primary: Meet Thane at end of Flasen Gorge
Reach Thane at waypoint 1. On the way you will find two energy fences.
To deactivate these fences, you need to destroy the nearby Electro-
chemical Power Plants. The first one is behind the first fence. Take
out the rocket tower which is also across the fence and then take out
the plant. Looking on the map, the second plant is located in the
little boot-shaped area before waypoint 1. There are also four Merc
Heavy Assault HAWCs. Take them out, then run inside the plant and
activate the self-destruct code. No need to waste your ammo, you'll
need it if you encounter one of those raiding parties.
@ Avoid or destroy Merc raiding parties
After taking out the second plant, you might see some red dots on your
radar; this would be the raiding party. You can fight if you want, but
if you're fast enough you can reach waypoint 1 before they catch up to
you.
>Mission 2-4: Egger
Thane thinks she knows how to stop the G-NOME, but first she needs to get
to Mesa Caracon. But first Kylie insists that she has a HAWC. Let's go
get one, shall we?
@ Primary: Help Thane Steal Merc Patrol HAWC
Once Thane shoots the Patrol HAWC, she will get inside. Mission
accomplished. Or you could cheat, so to speak, and just get an empty
Merc HAWC from waypoint two and tell Thane to get inside by targeting
the empty HAWC and pressing F3, then F4. She should get in and you
should win.
@ Lure Merc HAWC into Thane's EGGER range
Once Thane signals you, go near waypoint 2 and keep going until you see
a Merc HAWC coming after you. Now go back to where Thane is, and stop.
When the Merc HAWC gets close to you, it should stop. Now Thane can
shoot it. Just make sure that Thane doesn't get stepped on.
@ Signal Thane to attack
Near waypoint 1, there are two Merc Sentry HAWCs and a Merc Cruiser
HAWC. You should take out one Sentry HAWC and the HAWC Cruiser
first, and then eject and use the GASHR on the last remaining HAWC.
You might need an extra HAWC when you try to get the HAWC for Thane.
>Mission 2-5: The Citadel Approach
Now we need to buy Thane enough time to get into the base. (Bossy, isn't
she?)
@ Primary: Rendezvous at base of Mesa Caracon
Complete objective five.
@ Destroy base defenses
If you get the turrets to fight for you they will take out the defenses
themselves.
@ Defeat or utilize popup turret cluster
Destroy the Pop-Up Control Building at waypoint one. Or, if you want
to tip the scales in your favor a bit, write down your IFF code, enter
the Pop-Up Control Building, and change the IFF code to the one you
wrote down. Or just hit the reset IFF code button if you know what
button it is (Y button is standard control). Now the Pop-Up Turrets
will attack the Mercs instead of you. Recommended that you come within
fifty meters of the building before ejecting, though, because if you
try to run to it from a farther distance you will be taken out by the
turrets.
@ Draw sentry vehicles away from elevator
Find the occupied Merc Tactical Defense HAWC and destroy it. If you
don't it will follow you to the elevator and possibly kill you.
@ Rendezvous at elevator on Thane's signal
After completing objective four target Thane and head towards her.
When you get close eject from any vehicle you are in.
>Mission 2-6: Battle in the Clouds
Now Thane needs you to protect the citadel while she's inside. She only
needs five minutes.
@ Primary: Defend Citadel buildings
These two objectives are basically the same. They both involve taking
control of an unoccupied Merc Meson Guard Tower. Once inside, target
another empty tower and tell Kylie to get inside. Protect the building
by fighting the Merc attackers.
@ Defeat Merc Assault force
Occupy a Meson Guard Tower and fight the Merc Airborne Insurgence
Platforms until Thane leaves the Citadel.
>Mission 3-1: Scorp Crossing
We need to make a covert penetration into Scorp territory. With the
correct IFF code you can get in with a Scorp recon company. Avoid any
contact with the Union border control.
@ Primary: Pass through Ur-Binshar crossing
After objectives two and three are complete (when I say they are, not
the game), go to waypoint three with the Scorp recon force.
@ Secure Scorp IFF code, commander Scorp HAWC
At waypoint one, use the GAHSR to force the Scorp Imperial Warrior out
of the Scorp Armored Support Vehicle. Now fight the Scorp soldiers for
a few seconds, then use the Scorp Armored Support Vehicle to crush the
soldiers. This can be tricky since they will try to gas you, press the
C key to get an outside view of your HAWC, which makes it easier to see
the soldiers on the ground. Kill them quickly, because once you get
inside the HAWC, Kylie and Thane will start heading for you. Once
inside, Kylie will switch the IFF code for you.
@ Join recon force to cross border
Travel with the convoy of Scorp HAWCs found at waypoint two until the
Union HAWCs show up. When that happens, you should go back to waypoint
one and wait for the Scorp to destroy the Union HAWCs. Then you can
go back to the convoy and head for waypoint three. You can stay and
fight, but it is risky because if a Union Soldier uses a GASHR on your
HAWC, the Scorp will see that you are with the Union and you will have
to start over.
>Mission 3-2: CommArray at Ur-Kinsk
You've been doing very well. It's time to meet the final member of your
team, Jack Sheridan. With his help, you're going to destroy the Scorp
LATLON Communications Array in this area.
@ Primary: Destroy Scorp communications
Please note that while you're completing these objectives, you will be
under attack, although I don't say anything about it in the other
objectives. After completing objectives three and four, find the
LATLON array and destroy it. Then complete objective five.
@ Kylie/Sheridan to attack rocket tower
They will have this done once you get the LATLON destroyed.
@ Thane to wait for signal at generator
Complete objective four and Thane will take out the generator. I
couldn't get this to be checked off, but she'll destroy the generator
anyway.
@ Destroy or disable Meson Tower, signal Thane
Take out the Scorp Meson Guard Tower, or the nearby Electro-chemical
Power Plant. Then signal Thane using comm channel three.
@ Proceed to waypoint 2
After destroying the LATLON array, make a run for waypoint two.
>Mission 3-3: Raid on Ur-Ulit
To find out where the G-NOME is, we have to get into Ur-Alr. Too bad
there's a minefield in the way. You need to get a Scorp Armored Support
Vehicle. These are able to navigate the minefield. Too bad it's guarded
by another minefield.
@ Primary: Instruct wingmen to occupy Scorp Vehicles
Once you get to waypoint one, a few Scorp Imperial Warriors will emerge
from one of the buildings. Run them all over, because if they get in
the unoccupied Scorp HAWCs, you lose. Two of them will occupy the
Rocket Towers. Take them out, too. Once they're gone, have each team
member get in a Scorp HAWC by targeting them and telling one of them to
get in. If you use comm channel one they will all try to get in the
same HAWC.
@ Lure Armored Support Vehicle into the open
Head for waypoint one, but stop when the computer tells you that you're
about to enter a minefield. Use the Visom Missiles to shoot at the
Armored Support Vehicle at waypoint one. One hit will do the trick.
@ Use Visom Missiles
Basically you just have to hit the Armored Support Vehicle with a Visom
missile.
@ Use Egger to kill Scorp pilot
Once the Armored Support Vehicle is across the minefield, eject from
your HAWC and shoot the Scorp Vehicle with your EGGER. Just don't
miss, because it takes a while for the EGGER to recharge.
@ Destroy Union HAWC before entering depot
Before ejecting to kill the Scorp pilot, activate the self-destruct
code in your HAWC. Just make sure you aren't too close to it when it
blows.
@ Destroy Scorp Depot of Ur-Ulit
Destroy the HQ at waypoint one.
>Mission 3-4: Ur-Alr
Now we can get into Ur-Alr. The HAWCs you stole are equipped with laser
sights that can call in ion-strikes. Kylie and Sheridan are going to get
the access codes required to use them.
@ Primary: Help Sheridan enter Scorp HQ at Ur-Alr'
Once you have taken out the attacking Scorp forces at Ur-Alr' and taken
out the Shield Generator, eject and GAHSR the HQ. Kill the solider
that emerges, then target the HQ and tell Sheridan to enter. Remember:
Sheridan is on comm channel four. When he gets out the mission will be
completed.
@ Cross Eraskat River, defeat bridge defenses
Take out the Meson Tower and Sweep Turret from your side of the bridge,
then eject and use the GASHR on the Bridge Control Unit. Kill the
solider that emerges, then go inside and lower the bridge. Then get back
out and fight your way past the defenses.
*ALTERNATE STRATEGY* I've recently discovered something that makes this
entire mission a whole lot easier. Don't bother with the Meson Tower and
Sweep Turret, and instead go straight to the Bridge Control Building.
Once inside, lower the bridge, but take note of the IFF code there
before you leave. When you get back to your vehicle, use this IFF code
and none of the Scorp forces will attack you! Just make sure you tell
your allies to use your IFF code (press F1 to bring up the
communications box, then press F1 again for "Use my IFF"), or else they
will attack you instead.
@ Approach Ur-Alr': Waypoint two
Reach waypoint two. On the way there you will find a few Scorp HAWCs
to fight. Once you reach waypoint two, Kylie and Sheridan will join
you in the attack on Ur-Alr'.
@ Attack Ur-Alr'
Once Kylie and Sheridan join you, attack Ur-Alr'. Kylie and Sheridan
will fight the towers and HAWCs. You should find the Vehicle Delivery
System (VDS) and destroy it with your LaserSite. To operate it, target
the VDS, and then activate the LaserSite. Keep targeting the VDS until
an Ion Strike destroys it. Then help Kylie and Sheridan take out the
remaining forces, but leave the HQ standing.
>Mission 3-5: Ion-Strike
The G-NOME facility is guarded by the Scorp Elite Peacekeepers. These
are some though guys, so be careful.
@ Primary: Destroy G-Nome laboratory
Destroy the lab at waypoint one. Once you do, you will be notified
that the G-NOME escaped and that Sheridan is using the Ion Strike on
YOU! Eject from anything you're in and run!
@ Defeat rocket tower defense
Destroy the Rocket Tower. In the area after the tower there are some
Pop-Up Turrets you can take over by switching the Pop-Up Control
Building's IFF code to your own.
@ Destroy laboratory with ion-strike
This never happens, just blow up the lab with your own HAWC's weapons.
>Mission 4-1: Captured!
Sheridan betrayed you. And the Scorp captured Kylie. Go after him now
while Wilkins tries to negotiate his release.
@ Primary: Rescue Kylie at Scorp Imperial HQ
Reach the HQ at waypoint one. Destroy any Electro-chemical Power
Plants, they are powering those fence things. When you find the HQ,
some Scorp guy will talk to you, but you can't understand him. Shoot
the HQ and he will say something else, and you will be attacked. Then
Thane will tell you to eject. Do so.
>Mission 4-2: Scorp Defense
Hey, good news! Sheridan has the G-NOME! Even the Scorp are going to
help you stop him! Defend the Scorp town of Ur-Kinsk. It is believed
that Sheridan will try to re-arm his forces here.
@ Primary: Defend Ur-Kinsk
Get in a tower and blast the Union HAWCs! Protect the buildings,
especially the Power Plant. Once the attacking forces are gone, get a
HAWC and head for the bridge (it's on your map, press B). There are
some, err, not smart Union HAWCs having trouble crossing the bridge you
need to take out. Or just raise the bridge.
@ Occupy guard towers
Try to get a Meson Guard Tower, not a Rocket Tower.
>Mission 4-3: War Zone
Well, Sheridan escaped. You're not at fault though, those forces you
destroyed were a diversion so he would have enough time to get away.
Your only chance of catching him is to go though the Shalten war zone,
where Darken and Merc forces are fighting one another. Better get moving
before Sheridan can clone the G-NOME!
@ Primary: Cross Shalten war zone to waypoint three
Get to waypoint three alive.
@ Use Union HAWCs and one airstrike
You are already in a Union HAWC when you start the mission, and it's
really not worth ejecting to use the air strike. You don't have to
complete this objective anyway.
@ Ammunition supply: Waypoint one
Enter the building at waypoint one for free weapons.
@ Shield Doubler supply: Waypoint two
Enter the building at waypoint two for a stronger shield (I think). Also
make sure to destroy the Union designed "Unidentified Structure" near
waypoint 2 to destroy the minefield blocking your way to waypoint 3.
Remember what this looks like, because you'll need to take down another
one during the next mission.
@ Reach edge of war zone: Waypoint three
Reach waypoint three.
>Mission 4-4: General Delivery
Hey, they found Sheridan's recombination lab! Wilkins is coming with a
strike force to help you get Sheridan. You need to lower the bridge so
they can cross.
@ Primary: Lower bridge for reinforcements
Lower the bridge at waypoint one, taking out unfriendly Union forces
that get in your way. Destroy what the computer calls "Unidentified
Structure" to destroy the minefield, same as the last mission. You could
also go inside and steal the IFF code from inside to keep the rocket
towers on the other side of the river from firing at you. Two enemy
HAWCs might spawn near the minefield as well (I've had it happen
randomly, no definite trigger for this yet), and the right IFF code will
make them leave you alone. Make sure you take out the HAWC guarding the
Bridge Control Building before you try to enter. They can still tell who
you are if you're on foot (don't ask me how), but if you attack from a
HAWC, they won't return fire. This includes the ejected pilot, so make
sure you run him over before he goes into the control building himself.
@ Kylie and Thane to reconnoiter laboratory
They do this with no help from you. Don't even concern yourself with
this. In fact, they have it done right at the start and Kylie asks how
you're coming along with the bridge. Lazy son of a... On the plus side
to this, the game spaces out the enemies so that you only have to take
on one at a time. Take advantage of this by stopping to let your
shields fully recharge before moving on to the next target.
>Mission 4-5: Sheridan's Lair
Now Sheridan is gathering DNA samples from the G-NOME to take off the
planet! You must destroy his lab before his transport ship arrives and
he gets away.
@ Primary: Destroy Recombination laboratory
Use the Union Airborne Insurgence Platform to get across the fence
blocking waypoint two and destroy the lab. You're meant to head to
waypoint 1 and take out the power plant first, but my way is easier. ;)
@ Achieve goal before arrival of transport ship (20 min.)
I don't know if the game actually times this, just be quick.
@ Breach defenses, exchange vehicles with Wilkins
Defeat the first forces that come at you. Ironically, Wilkins wants
you to take his "faster" Union Tactical Defense HAWC, even though it's
the slowest Union HAWC in the game. Take Kylie's HAWC, you need it to
get to the lab.
@ Paint lab with laser sight for ion-strike
Eject from you vehicle at waypoint two and use your LaserSight on the
lab.
>Mission 4-6: Mano-a-Mano
You've found Sheridan. Stop him. It's personal this time. He was
responsible for losing Pearl, and now, he's killed Kylie. Time for
Sheridan to get his. Find him and kill him before his transport arrives.
@ Primary: Kill Sheridan and G-Nome: Waypoint one
Beat Sheridan to the bridge at waypoint one. If you go in the
direction you're facing when you start, you have a greater chance of
losing. Turn around and you should see a narrow mountain pass. Go
that way. When you reach the bridge, stop in front of it and face the
direction you just came from, and wait for Sheridan. Take him out,
stealing his HAWC if you have to. You can just as easily destroy the
bridge. That way you don't run the risk of Sheridan getting past you
and crossing.
Now enjoy the ending! Stay tuned after the credits for the second half of
the ending sequence.

7. Multiplayer
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Multiplayer allows you to play against other people. But it's very rare
you know anyone with this game, so it allows you to play against the computer
as well. To play against the computer, press the network button, then choose
Protocol. Pick the second option, then choose Host and start a game with AI
players. Pick a mission, choose your race, and your HAWC. I will now describe
the options in detail as they correspond to your play mode.
Deathmatch: Allows you to go head to head against as many players you can
get. Playing against the computer isn't very fun, because the
AI players are kind of dumb.
@ Team Play: Deathmatch can have up to four teams. Teams are not
necessary for Deathmatch play.
@ AI Players: If you're not playing with other human players, you might
want to activate this option, or you will be wandering the
level all by yourself.
@ HAWC Regeneration: If active, any destroyed HAWCs will reappear where
you first found them.
@ Frag Limit: If this is set to Unlimited the game will go on forever
until someone stops it.
Cooperative: You play on a team to complete a goal. The goal depends on
the level. The only difference in options for Cooperative is
that you must have Team play active, and you only get two
teams. And if you want to focus on the objectives for your
team, set the Frag Limit to Unlimited. Now the game will go
until a team fulfils their objectives. Each team has a set
of objectives to complete.
I will now describe each level. Crates that give different affects are
scattered across the levels.
>Mission D-1: Hell on Ice
@ "A new meaning to the Dead of Winter. Occupy Headquarters buildings to
obtain hand-held weapons."
Notes: There are many raised bridges in this area. Use an Airborne
Insurgence Platform to avoid lowering these bridges. The
Headquarters buildings will give you the Meson Guard Tower
weapon. VERY powerful, but slow to recharge.
>Mission D-2: Desert Fury
@ "It's a hot time in the desert. Occupy Headquarters to resupply
GAHSRs."
Notes: Meson Guard Towers scatter the area. Use them if necessary.
>Mission D-3: Fields of Fire
@ "There's a storm brewing, and it's not just the weather! Occupy
Headquarters buildings to resupply GAHSRs."
Notes: Meson Guard Towers are also scattered around this area. Going
off the map will get you killed, but the computer gives you
fair warning. If you hear "Have a nice day." you ignored the
warning and are about to die.
>Mission D-4: Fog of War
@ "Winter. Fog. No Radar. No Gashers. Close quarters. Just another
day on the slopes."
Notes: The only thing you have is your HAWC. If you turned off HAWC
regeneration and you lose your HAWC, you might as well forfeit.
VERY short range Radar, picks up enemies that are about 124m or
closer to you.
>Mission C-1: Last Defense
@ "Team One: Attack and destroy Team Two's Headquarters. Team Two:
Survive for 20 minutes or defeat Team One's assault."
Notes: Team Two's base is guarded by a fence. Team One should have at
least one Airborne Insurgence Platform that can go in and shut
it down.
>Mission C-2: RedHot Bottleneck
@ "HAWCs that pass in the night...to destroy the other team's
Headquarters."
Notes: A river divides this battleground in half, and each team
controls one bridge over it. A good strategy is to have an
Airborne Insurgence Platform cross the river, raise the other
team's bridge, and blow the Control Building to smithereens
while the rest of the team crosses the other bridge. Then the
platform should go back and raise their bridge, but don't
destroy the Control Building. Now the only way for the other
team to reach your HQ is to get an Airborne Insurgence Platform
of their own. Meson Towers stand near the Headquarters. Use
them well.
>Mission C-3: King of the Hill
@ "You know the rules. First team to occupy the Citadel for 1 minute
wins."
Notes: Get a fast HAWC to the Citadel and occupy it while the rest of
the team defends it.
Unless there's a way to get more levels, that's all there is for
multiplayer mode.

8. Rarely Asked Questions
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Wait... RARELY Asked Questions? What's up with that?!! Well, in order to
try to prevent a flood of e-mails that ask the same thing, I have decided to
put up questions the first time they are asked. Uhm... Well it makes sense in
my mind... On to the questions!
Q: How do you change the Comm Channels?
A: Well, you have four of them, and they are normally on buttons F1-F4, unless
you changed them. You use each Comm Channel to talk to someone on your
team, as follows:
> Comm Channel 1 (standard: F1): Talk to all allies.
> Comm Channel 2 (standard: F2): Talk to Kylie when available.
> Comm Channel 3 (standard: F3): Talk to Thane when available.
> Comm Channel 4 (standard: F4): Talk to Sheridan or Wilkins when
available.
Of course, by talk, I mean you give them orders. Also, the available
commands change when you are targeting something. In Multiplayer, use
Comm Channel 1 to send a message to everyone, and Comm Channel 2 to talk
to your allies only.

9. Cheats
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Having some trouble, are you? Well I've got some cheats here that will fix
you up in no time. These are case sensitive, so make sure to type them exactly
as I say. To bring up the cheat menu, press Control and F1. You must be at
the menu screen to bring up the cheat menu (that's the screen with all the fun
buttons everywhere).
@ Range Goes Cory: Enables all of the Control + button effects. (Control
+ I, Control + Z, and so on) [SUBMITTED BY:
Jonis2cute@aol.com]
@ Had A Nude On: In game, press Control and I for invincibility. You
must use this each time you are in a different vehicle.
@ Brass Clue: Press Control and Z for more ammunition.
@ Rotted Drop: Press Control and F to kill your target.
@ Redtop trod: Unlocks all levels in the Mission selection.
@ Half Libel: Press Control and B to warp to a waypoint or target.
@ Swiss Throat: The Citadel in Mission 2-6 becomes the 7th LEVEL HQ.
@ O'Sarge: The training instructor has an Irish accent.
@ Dunk It Here: Plays various clips of people talking.
@ A Scramble On: I'm not sure what this does, supposedly you hold Shift
and Control and then right click with your mouse for
wallpaper, but I can't get it to work. If you can
please tell me.
@ Mother Mourn Us: A mountain in Mission 1-5 has the faces of the
developers on it.
@ Horny Elk Leer: Press Control + P in game to change the zoom of your
radar so that it shows everything. [SUBMITTED BY:
Jonis2cute@aol.com]
That's all I have. If you know something I don't, tell me! You will be
given full credit.

10. Credits
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
This is where I give everyone credit for something they have done to help
with the creation of this FAQ.
@ mjc0961
I wrote it, I deserve SOME credit, don't I?
@ 7TH LEVEL
Without this company there would be no G-NOME to play, and then life
would suck.
@ GAMEFAQS
I got the cheats from this site, and I thank them for posting my FAQ.
@ Jonis2cute@aol.com
For sending in some cheats.
If I forgot someone, please tell me!! Or wait for me to get an updated
version.
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
11. Glitches
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Found a glitch? Tell me! I'll put it here.
>Mission 2-5: The Citadel Approach
You know how you start in the Merc Armored Support Vehicle? I told Kylie
to occupy me, and he got inside. Then I made my way to waypoint to take
control of the Pop-up Turret cluster. I ejected. So did Kylie. Then Kylie
got blown up, and I got a nice big "Mission Accomplished" on my screen. Then I
went to the next mission. I tried to duplicate this stunt, but he held out
longer and when he eventually was killed by a Merc HAWC I lost the mission.
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
12. Version History
*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*
Version 1.0: The first version, I wrote the entire walkthrough and
spellchecked the entire document.
Version 1.1: Corrected some errors the spellchecker doesn't recognize,
next time I will proofread my FAQ before submitting it.
Version 2.0: I realized I forgot the Version History section! So, of
course, I added it. I also added to the Battle Strategies
section and completed the Multiplayer section.
Version 2.1: Changed e-mail address. I also edited and added to the
Mission 2-5 and 4-6 walkthroughs, and I changed small
errors in the Multiplayer and Version History sections.
Added Glitches section. I fixed a typo in Glitches
Section, and made a few small updates to the Contact
Information Section. Edited the legal blob. (November
2002)
Version 2.2: Added the Rarely Asked Questions section. Also fixed a few
errors in the walkthrough and added a few details to a few
missions. (July 2003)
Version 2.3: Added some cheats! Yeah! Get your cheat on! (March 2004)
Version 2.4: Holy crap, this guide was n00bish. I re-wrote the Legal and
Contact sections, and then added more strategies for
missions 1-3, 3-4, 4-3, and 4-4. (February 2007)
And that concludes my FAQ! I hoped this helped you with whatever questions
you had about G-NOME!
