a. Welcome ID#1a
Um, well, welcome to my Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe FAQ! I sure hope that you
find this FAQ of any help and/or interest to you. I guess that's all I have to
say about this.
************************************************************************
b. Why? ID#1b
Why? means why I wrote this FAQ. I did because I was playing the game when I
though "This game is pretty fun. I should type up an FAQ of it." So the main
reason I wrote it is because I thought the game is fun.
************************************************************************

a. Pieces and Buttons ID#2a
There are a total of 13 different pieces, 5 different "helping" add-ons, 8
coaster modifiers buttons and 8 buttons in the column at the top of the screen.
When I list them I put down the name, hotkey, a description, then show what the
piece looks it looks like. The helping add-ons won't have a look part and the
same with the buttons and coaster modifiers. Here's the list:

Short Straight (A)
These, as its name says, are just flat straights. Just use them for straight
areas or to make hills.
______

Long Straight (S)
These are similar to the short straights, they're just a little longer. You can
make higher hills with them and longer straight paths.
_________

Curved Right (D)
This piece is a 90-degree turn to the right.
/---
|
|

Curved Left (F)
This piece is a 90-degree turn to the left.
---\
   |
   |

Loop (G)
Loops are put up for the fun parts in roller coasters. The loops are straight-
like, so it will end going in the same part forward as the beginning. They take
a full up side down turn going up then back down. (Not like in Roller Coaster
Tycoon where it ends to the right or left.)
   /\

 \ /
__\__/___

Corkscrew (H)
Corkscrews make a loop-like turn and a half. They don't go as high as loops.
They will turn around in circle like a loop but it will be smaller and more
turning-like.

S-Turn (J)
S-turns move just like an S. They will move to the right, left then back to the
right. The turns aren't very big, though.

Straight Up/Down (W)
These pieces will either move straight up, or straight down. They will normally
go up, but if the piece behind it is pointing down, then it will go straight
down.

Half Loop (T)
A half loop is only half of a loop. It will go through half of a loop and then
let you continue building. This puts the cars up side down until you flip them
back over.

Advanced Track Piece Display
This button opens up the more advanced track pieces. Those pieces are straight
up/down, shallow right, shallow left, half loop, half corkscrew right and half
corkscrew left.

Accelerator (Z) >>>>>
These make the cars on the coaster go faster. They are marked with green arrows
pointing forward. You should place them on loops or corkscrews where there
isn't a hill in front of them or you should put them on straights.

Brake (X) OOOOO
Brakes help stop the coaster. You should place these on areas that have too
much G-force. They are marked with red arrows pointing backwards.

Chain (C) 88888
Chains are used to carry the cars on a roller coaster up hills or other upward
areas. It is marked with a chain.

Retarder (V) <<<<<
Retarders are the best item for slowing the cars down. You should place these
at the end of a ride to stop it. Retarders are marked with a red chain.

Tube Decoration (B)
Tube decorations don't change the coasters actions in any way. It just puts a
tube around the roller coaster for decoration.

Delete (Delete button)
The delete button deletes the last piece on your coaster. The piece must be
selected for it to by deleted.

Finish Coaster (N)
When the square button with the X on it is lit up, then you can finish your
coaster. Clicking on the button adds more or less pieces and connects the piece
to the back of the loading dock. It lights up once the last piece is in close
enough range of the back of the loading dock and the last piece is almost
evened up with the loading dock.

Pitch Up (K)
The pitch up button makes the selected piece move diagonally higher. Loops and
corkscrews can't get moved up as high.

Pitch Down (L)
The pitch down button makes the selected piece move diagonally lower. Loops
and corkscrews can't get moved as low.

Bank Left (colon)
Bank left makes the selected piece pivot to the left so that the cars ride on
that side.

Bank Right (quote)
Bank right makes the selected piece pivot to the right so that the cars ride on
that side.

Curve Right (M)
When any piece but the straights (short, long, up/down) is selected then you
can turn that piece more to the right.

Curve Left (comma)
When any piece but the straights (short, long, up/down) is selected then you
can turn that piece more to the left.

Lengthen (period)
Lengthen makes the selected piece longer.

Shorten (right slash)
Shorten makes the selected piece shorter.

Load Menu (1)
The load menu lets you load a saved coaster or ride a finished coaster. After
pressing the load menu button a screen will come up asking you if you are sure
that you want to load a saved coaster. There are already 8 pre-made coasters.

Save Menu (2)
The save menu lets you save your coaster. You will name your coaster using
letters, numbers and spaces. There is a caps lock key on the save menu, as
well.

Toggle Camera (3)
The toggle camera button lets you switch between a close view and a far view.

Toggle Placement Grid (4)
This button turns the placement grid on which is a grid that goes across the
ground.

Test Coaster (5)
The test coaster button lets you test ride your coaster. You can do this even
if your coaster isn't finished. Once the screen changes and shows you on the
coaster, press space bar to start. Press escape on the keyboard to exit the
test ride.

Ride Finished Coaster (6)
This button allows you to actually ride your coaster in seats. You can only do
this if your coaster is finished.

Builder Options (7)
The builder options lets you edit your coasters looks and functions. Refer to
the builder options part in chapter 2 for more information.

Return to Menu (8)
Return to menu takes you back to the main menu. In Imagineer Mode it takes you
back to the mission select screen.

b. Types of Coasters ID#2b
There are a few types of coasters in this game. None of the coasters effect the
ride in a different way. The type of car is different depending on the coaster
type and the car type. Here's all the different coaster types:

-Flying
On a flying coaster the people ride on their back looking downwards if they're
on a straight. If they are going up then they look in front of them.

-Hanging
The cars for a hanging coaster are under the track. The people hold onto bars
that are beside them and they let their legs kick under them.

-Standing
Standing coasters allow the people to stand up during the ride.

-Steel
Steel coasters are standard coasters where the cars are on the top of the track
and people sit down.

-Wooden
Wooden coasters have a bunch of wood holding them up. The cars are above the
track and the people sit down. Due to building ways, you can't make a corkscrew
or any of the "half" pieces with a wooden coaster.
************************************************************************
c. Environments ID#2c
Along with the track types there is a ton of environments or background.
Different environments can have hills, holes, and ledges or they might just be
completely flat. Here are the many different environments:

-Asteroid
The asteroid takes place on an asteroid floating around in space. There're
plenty of craters and hills here.

-Canyon
The canyon has a lot of flat mountain-like area. It takes place in a dessert-
like area and, obviously, in a canyon.

-Cavern
The cavern is quite similar to the canyon. It is inside cave with a lave river
flowing at the bottom. This place seems to be a little bigger than canyon.

-Field
The field is a surface that has almost no hills at all. It may go up a little
at times but it might not even look like it does. The field looks like a
grassland area with some patches of dirt.

-Grid
The grid puts you into a completely flat area inside a cube that is a full grid
al around. The cube is dull blue color. The whole cube looks pretty dull and
not so colorful, really.

-Neo Cube
The neo cube looks similar to the grid. The neo cube has more layers of a grid
and has a nice blue color to it. I seem to like this one more because it
doesn't look as dull.

-Island
The island is a bundle of islands that you can build your coaster on. The
coaster can also be built on the water around the islands.

-Mountain
This place is sort of a mix between the field and island areas. It has the
water of an island and the greens of a field. There are also mountains
surrounding the area and a big mountain in the middle. Things can be built on
the mountain in the middle.
************************************************************************
d. Themes and Loading Docks ID#2d
There are 6 different themes in this game. Each theme has its own loading dock,
type of car, fanfare and props. This section explains those themes. There is
one theme that only holds props. That theme will be listed last. This section
also tells about the loading docks and how to make them, or to start a roller
coaster out.

THEMES--

-Amusement Park
The amusement park items are pretty much the main things in this game. They are
the things you'd find at a real amusement park. The cars for this are just
original theme park cars.

-Medieval
Medieval are the things you'd find in the middle ages. Those things are
dragons, castles, knights, jewels and many other things. The cars for this are
dragons.

-Gothic
Gothic objects are things you'd normally find in a haunted mansion or any
haunted place at all like a cemetery. Here there are things like organs and
gravestones. The cars look like some haunted cart with spider webs.

-Crystal Empire
Crystal Empire has things that fly through the air or are mechanical. Those
things include gears, hot air balloons and even Big Ben! The cars for this are
wooden carts.

-Monster Island
Monster Island has some weird looking plants, tiki god thingamajigs and, well,
monsters. This monster-filled catastrophe is actually pretty cool looking. The
cars are some weird monster like carts with horns.

-Outer Space
The name "outer space" pretty much speaks fore itself. The things here look
better than the rest. There are TV screens, hover cars, robots and a sack of
some other things. The cars on this here area seem to be metallic and have
planets on them.

-Environment
The environment section only holds props. The props are volcanoes, trees,
plants and planets.

LOADING DOCKS--

-Amusement Park
This loading dock seems to be the only one that looks natural. It has the lines
of which the people line up at and it has a sun on the top and 4 blinking stars
on some little pillars.

-Medieval
Medieval has a brick castle with four tall pillars; one on each corner. There
are also to torches in the front and back.

-Gothic
This is a brick building with windows on both sides and two electric pillows
sending s beam of electricity through each other. On the front there are two
straight pillars with electricity inside them.

-Crystal Empire
On the sides there is a big window. In the middle are to fat pillars that look
like pipes. The front of both window has a bunch of flags.

-Monster Island
A wooden tiki god with a mouth on both sides.

-Outer Space
The space one has a robotic head with two yellow eyes. Where ears should be
there are arrows pointing down. There're also arrows pointing backwards close
to the bottom.
************************************************************************
e. Building Your Coaster ID#2e
You start building your coaster by clicking on one of the loading docks that
appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. After that you should place a
straight. You will then just click on the pieces you want and make an awesome,
thrilling roller coaster. Hills are pretty much needed to make a good coaster.
For more insanity in a ride add accelerators on straight paths. Use half loops
to send the people upside-down for some time. If a collision happens then use
the modifying buttons to get out. If that doesn't work then just delete the
piece or pieces. You can also make turns by using the same half corkscrew.
Corkscrews going downwards will add fun to your coaster and using accelerators
instead of chains will add even more excitement. Click on the finish coaster
button to finish the coaster and ride it!
************************************************************************
f. Making it Better ID#2f
1. A coaster can be made better by adding brakes in areas where there are to
 many G's.
2. Accelerators should be placed on one or two track pieces where the cars on
 the coaster go too slow.
3. If the car or cars can't make it up a corkscrew, loop, half loop or half
corkscrew (left or right) then you should put accelerators instead of chains.
4. The end of a coaster should have retarders, not breaks, for retarders slow
the cars down faster than breaks.
5. Putting chains on hills to get up would increase the suspense of the riders,
 so do that.
6. Parts that go straight down usually add a lot of G's. You should put breaks
on every other piece to keep the G-force down. You should only have to do this
on straight down parts that are long.
7. If you want to save space and want to make a hill then make the hill go
straight up. For this you should add chains.
8. On dips (explained in the next part) you should put accelerators on every
other piece while going straight up.
9. Springs that are going up (explained in the next part) are better with an
 accelerator.
************************************************************************
g. Some Extra Things ID#2g
Be creative in making your coaster. Try to make some things that are not on the
bar by using pieces that are. This area explains some that I've done. Keep note
that some of these I really didn't make up, and they might by very obvious.
Here they are:

-The Spring (a.k.a. Helixes)
The Spring is a very cool thing. You make it with one curved direction, any
will do, and the shorten or lengthen buttons and the bank up or bank down
buttons. First place a curve. Make the curve go down (for downward springs) or
up (for upward springs.) Then continue clicking on that same button of the
piece and the spring will start appearing. If a collision happens fix it by
pressing the bank up or bank down buttons. If you want there to be more loops
in The Spring then make the curve shorter. For extra fun try banking the
curves.

-Springtime Diver
To make a Springtime Diver, first make The Spring going up. Once you reach as
high as you want to go then make the last curve turn until it is facing through
the top of The Spring. After that add a short straight. Shorten or lengthen the
straight until it is in the center above the spring. Make the straight barely
go down and then add a straight down piece. Continue clicking on it until you
get to the bottom of The Spring. Once there make a straight and exit the middle
of The Spring. If you get a collision on the part where the straight starts
going down then continue to press down on the short straight.

-Side Loop
You need to first make a half loop. After that make two of the same curves. Add
another half loop after that. Now make the same curve as you did before. You
made it! This thing looks pretty cool from different views.

-Taco Shell Stack
This thing looks wicked awesome! Start by placing a half corkscrew, any
direction, and make it go up. Continue making the same direction of the half
corkscrew. After about every four or three pieces a collision will appear. Fix
the collision by pressing up or down (depending on what direction it is going
in.) Just like The Spring, you can make this go up or down and make more of the
Taco Shell Stack by shortening it. You should also try to bank the half
corkscrew pieces.

-Taco Sauce
You make this the same way as you make the Springtime Diver. First you make the
Taco Shell Stack. Turn the last piece until it is facing through the center of
the Taco Shell Stack. Make a short straight and continue to shorten it until it
is above the center of the Taco Shell Stack. Press the pitch down button about
3 times and then add a straight down piece. Continue to press that button until
the you get to the bottom of the Taco Shell Stack. Once it gets to the bottom
add a straight and you're done. If you get a collision on the part where the
straight starts going down then continue to press down on the short straight.

-Corner-side Hole
Start by making a half loop. Next make a half corkscrew, any direction. After
that make another half loop and then make the opposite kind of half corkscrew
(for example if you first made a half corkscrew right then your second half
corkscrew would be a half corkscrew left.) Continue doing this pattern until
you think it's good enough.

-Hole Digger
This looks like fun! First make the Corner-side Hole. After that make curves
and short straights while using the pitch up or pitch down and shorten buttons.
Make either the straight or curve go through the holes made by the Corner-side
Hole. Continue making it go down through as many holes you like.

-The Letter b or d
First off, make at least two straight down pieces. Press the pitch up button
when the last straight down piece is selected. After that make a half loop.
Shorten the half loop until the collision made is gone. Next make a turn.
Shorten the turn and curve in the appropriate direction. At one angle this will
look like a lower case B. At a different angle this will make a lower case D.

-The Letter p or q
Same as The Letter b or d. Just make the straight down a straight up and make
the half loop go down instead of up.

-Big Dipper
Make a straight up piece and make it long. Then make a short straight and make
it go down a little. After that make a straight down. Then make another short
straight and make that go up a little. Next make another straight up piece.
Continue this pattern to your hearts content.

-Little Dipper
Make a straight up piece and remember to make it short. Then make a short
straight and make it go down a little. After that make a straight down.
Then make another short straight and make that go up a little. Next make
another straight up piece. Continue this pattern to your hearts content.

-Mountain
This one is pretty much required for a good coaster, and it's pretty obvious as
well. First make a long or short straight. Then click on the pitch up bottom
for a little bit until the straight seems high enough. Then make another
straight and pitch this one down.

-Under and Out
First make a Mountain. Next click on one of the curve pieces and create three
of the same kind. Next add a straight and your done. You may have to add a bit
more pieces depending on how high the mountain is.

-The Tunnel
Set the track type to a wooden coaster and then make an Under and Out.

-Speedy Start
Change the chains that are in the loading dock to accelerators. Then add
accelerators to the first piece made on the coaster.

-Asteroid-
Crystal Empire
Outer Space
Environment (planets only)

-Canyon-
Amusement Park
Medieval
Environment (not planets)

-Cavern-
Gothic
Monster Island
Medieval (dragons only)
Environment (volcanoes only)

Medieval
Environment (not planets)

-Grid-
Crystal Empire
Outer Space

-Neo Cube-
Crystal Empire
Outer Space

-Island-
Amusement Park
Monster Island

-Mountain-
Amusement Park
Environment (not planets)

Asteroid: Well, obviously outer space would work hear. Crystal empire a little,
but it's not the greatest to have in space. It would make sense to have
planets floating around in space next to an asteroid, wouldn't it?

Canyon: An amusement park is usually outside, right. Medieval, well, you know
it's outside and a canyon theme seems pretty good to me. Environment is
outside so that fits the place well.

Cavern: The only place that I put gothic in. You'd also expect monsters to be
in a cavern, eh? For medieval I think only the dragons should go. That's every
dragon in the medieval section except for the castle dragon. You wouldn't find
a lot of trees and that kind of stuff in a cave, right, but you might find a
volcano, and besides, there is a stream of lava at the bottom of the cavern.

Field: This would probably be the best place for an amusement park. It would
probably be the best place for a medieval kingdom, as well. You would find
trees and plants in the middle of a field. Am I right about that or am I left
 about that?

Grid: Not a lot of things would seem to work out very good in a grid. Outer
space is probably the best for this. With this I imagine the crystal empire
equipment to be the things working the grid in a cube.

Neo Cube: Same as above. Not a lot of things would seem to work out very good
in a neo cube. Outer space is probably the best for this. With this I imagine
the crystal empire equipment to be the things working the grid in a cube.

Island: An amusement park isn't the best thing for this, but it still works
out. Monster island's probably the best thing you could find for island. Part
of which because monster island has the word island in it.

Mountain: A mountain could contain an amusement park for more excitement,
couldn't it? Environment would diffidently work here. Just remember to make
more dead or smaller plants closer to the top of the mountain.

i. Builder Options ID#2i
This section explains all the things in builder options. The hotkey for builder
options is 8. You should go into builder options once you've finished building

-Friction-
I have no idea what this does yet.

of the bars (center, crossbar, rail or supports) and change the red, blue and
green dial things. The color that you have for the selected area will be in
the square box at the bottom left corner. Below the change scheme box it will
 say as following:
-Add Scheme: adds the scheme you made to the list
-Save Scheme: saves the scheme you made as the default scheme to either scheme
 1, 2, 3 or custom
-Reset Scheme: resets the scheme to the default scheme

+Chapter 4++++++
+Imagineer mode+
++++++++++++++++
a. In the Beginning ID#4a
That was a horrible name for this section. Anyway, in Imagineer Mode you are
challenged to a number of difficult missions. When I say DIFFICULT I mean
DIFFICULT. These will take a lot of time, patience and concentration for you to
beat them. You really don't get a reward for doing this but if your bored this
is a good thing to do. The reward you get is more missions, but if you finish a
mission with some special things done then you might get a bronze, if done good
but not perfect, a silver, if done pretty good but still not the best or a
gold, if done in a great, perfect way. Something you might want to know is that
I haven't completed Imagineer Mode. In fact, I've only completed 2 missions.
This section won't be complete until I have. Sometime I will have all of these
finished, but I know it will take me a long, long time. I should also tell you
that when you see and "=" sign that means that the following things are
requirements.

To get started you first click on "Imagineer Mode". After you do that a list
will pop up showing the people who have started and Imagineer Mode game and
what rank they are. Your rank increases as you do better throughout the
missions. Well, anyways, if you already have a game then click on your game
then click on "load". If you don't have one then click on the word "new". If
you accidentally came into Imagineer Mode, then click "Main Menu".

b. Original Tracks ID#4b
None of these have I finished yet. You'll need to wait for the final results.
************************************************************************
c. Standing ID#4c
-1-
=Pass through all the rings on the green side
=Sustain enough momentum to finish the ride
Start by building a straight, any kind. Make that straight head through the
high ring. Right after it's out of the ring make sure that the end is barely
out of it. Then add a short straight and rise that one just barely. Make this
one pretty short. After that make yet another straight and have this one go
down, down through the next ring that is in front of the first one. Make that
straight go pretty close to the ground then add a curve turning in the
direction of which the final ring is. Add another curve, this one being of the
opposite direction of the first curve you made. That curve might not make it
through that ring so then you have to add another curve, this one moving in the
same direction of the second ring. After that you should have all the rings
selected. Once this is done just finish the coaster how you like. Just make
sure to sustain enough momentum. This strategy awards you with a bronze medal.
Hint: The narrator says that a longer coaster may give rewards.

2-8 I haven't seen a spec of finish on.
************************************************************************
d. Flying ID#4d
-1-
=Sustain enough momentum to finish the ride
=Pass through all the rings on the green side
The first ring is easy. Make a straight going partially downwards. After that
make two right curves then a half loop, short straight then a half loop curved
in the direction of the last, unfilled ring. Make the right kind of curve then
make straight going up. After all that you can finish the coaster any way you
like. This will get you a bronze medal.

2-8= unfinished!

e. Wooden ID#4e
None of these are done. Enough here said.
************************************************************************
f. Steel ID#4f
Sorry, none here have been completed.

g. Hanging ID#4g
You know the drill. None here have been found in the series of completion

h. Final Track ID#4h
I believe you earn this set of tracks after completing every other mission. The
only reason I know of this set is because it shows it in the help menu. Of
course, I don't have nor have I beaten any if these tracks.
