A. Intro
----

This is an in-depth guide on how to beat the 21 Madden Moments that are in
Madden NFL 2005: Collector's Edition. These are 21 scenarios that put you in
a situation resembling one that has been in one of 21 playoff games in the past
30 years. Some are harder than others, and some are just easy. But nevertheless
they're fun to try to beat.

Another note: This is my first FAQ, so if anyone's got any suggestions or
corrections that need to be made, feel free to E-Mail me and tell me so I can
fix 'em. (See Contact Info at the very end for e-mail address)

B. Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Madden Moments
----

Q: What is a Madden Moment?
A: Well, if you'd read the intro, you'd know, but I'll explain anyway. These
are games where you're put into a scenario resembling one that was in a playoff
game any time in the past 15 years (excluding one, in 1974). While they're
definitely not perfect re-enactments, you'll still have fun playing them, as
most of them are late in the game situations (and we all enjoy making/holding
a comeback late). And if you win one, you get an amount of Madden Tokens equal
to the # of the moment x 100. (i.e. for completing the first moment you'd get
100 tokens, for the second you'd get 200, etc...)

Q: OK, these sound cool, but WHERE ARE THEY?? OMG I CAN'T FIND THEM!?!?!?!?!?
A: Alright. There is only one version of Madden 2005 that has this mode. That
is the Collector's Edition. You know, the one that you paid 60 bucks for? Well,
maybe you bought the regular version, which you had to if you don't have a PS2.
If you do have the PS2, then maybe you did buy the CE. If you did, then simply
hit "Special Features" from the main menu. You'll find that the first option is
"Madden Moments", which might just be what you're looking for. So, at this
point, if you're an X-Head or a Nintendo fanboy with this game, or a PS2 owner
who has the game but doesn't have the CE, then you can stop reading now. But if
you've got the CE, feel free to read on.

Q: WTF this (insert team used in MM here) is so unlike what it was IRL? WTF?
A: Well, EA royally screwed up these rosters of "playoff teams from the past 15
years". Yeah, a lot of guys aren't right on regarding their RL counterparts (in
fact, many of them are right OFF...). The only ones that are even kinda
accurate (that you'll see in the MMs, at least) are the '74 Raiders/Dolphins
and the '86 Browns/Broncos. Yeah, it kinda stinks.

Q: Anything else I should know?
A: Well, I'll be presenting these moments in the following way:
---
(#). (Name)
---
Summary: The description of the situation given in the game.
Now::
Team: Your team.
Opposing team: The team you're facing.
Score: What the score is as you take over.
Possesion: Which team has the ball.
Down and Distance: What down it is and how many yards are needed for the first.
Where: What yard line the ball is at.
Timeouts: The # of timeouts each team has.
Time Left: The time left in the 4th quarter/OT.
Clock Running/Stopped: Whether the clock is running or stopped.
Strategy: What to do to beat this particular moment.

Alright, then, onto the important stuff...

C. Breaking Down the Moments
----

---
1. 1989-1990 AFC Divisional Playoff-Steelers at Broncos
---
Summary: The Broncos score with 2:27 left to take a 1 point lead after a 71
yard, 9 play drive that is highlited by a 36-yard flea flicker that gets them
to their third AFC Championship Game in 4 years. With 5:00 remaining, win the
game with the Broncos.
Now::
Team: Denver Broncos
Opposing team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Score: 23-17 Pittsburgh
Possesion: Denver
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Denver 20 yard line
Timeouts: Pittsburgh-0, Denver-3
Time Left: 5:00
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: OK. I'm going to give you one word. ROOKIE. That's the difficulty
that this moment is played on. If you don't believe me now, you will after
you've scored YOUR FIFTH TOUCHDOWN IN THE 5 MINUTE PERIOD, which I'd done both
times I've tried this moment. There's really no strategy needed for this, as
you'll find out rather quickly. Bottom Line: If you can't beat this one, sell
this game on eBay because you suck at it so much. It's really that easy.

---
2. 1990-1991 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Chiefs at Dolphins
---
Summary: The Miami Dolphins overcame a 16-3 deficit in the 4th quarter to win
17-16 when a last second 52 yard field goal fell short. Take the Chiefs down
the field with 3 minutes left to play and rewrite history by winning the game.
Now::
Team: Kansas City Chiefs
Opposing team: Miami Dolphins
Score: 17-16 Miami
Possesion: Kansas City
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Kansas City 20 yard line
Timeouts: KC-2, Miami-2
Time Left: 3:00
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Well, there are two ways that you can do this. The first is to try to
score really quickly and rely on your D to finish this one out. Look to go long
a lot. Work the sidelines on long passes or head straight for the endzone. Once
you've scored, go for 2 and try to go up by a TD. However, you've then got the
opposing offense to worry about, which is why I feel that the way I'm about to
tell you is the way that is more efficient, IMO. Slowly drive down the field,
not paying much attention to the time. Obviously, go for it on 4th down shall
one come up. Now, try to get into Dolphin territory around the 2 minute
warning, and get into field goal range shortly after. Around the 1:30 mark (it
was 1:29 for me), the Dolphins will call their 2nd timeout. Run it again, and
they'll call their last timeout. Now, keep the ball moving downfield, staying
towards the center of the field (giving you an easier field goal attempt). With
the clock winding down and you downfield, you can either let the clock run,
call a timeout with about 5 seconds left, and then kick, or you can just line
up for the kick, let the clock run, and then kick in the closing seconds to
win. Either way works fine, and either way should get you the win and the
tokens.

---
3. '91-'92 AFC Divisional Playoff-Oilers at Broncos
---
Summary: With 2:07 remaining, no timeouts, down by 1, and starting at their 2
yard line, the Broncos travel 89 yards and kick a field goal to win the game
28-26. Take the Broncos from their own 2 yard line with 2:07 remaining and win
the game.
Now::
Team: Denver Broncos
Opposing team: Houston Oilers
Score: 26-25 Houston
Possesion: Denver
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Denver 2 yard line
Timeouts: Houston-0, Denver-0
Time Left: 2:07
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Well, not much to really say here. Just run a good 2 minute offense,
and get into field goal range. The one thing that you'll want to watch out for
(it's sort of a given, but...) is that you're starting on the 2. Don't do
anything stupid, because you've got no timeouts and a safety basically
guarantees a failure.

---
4. '92-'93 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Oilers at Bills
---
Summary: The greatest comeback in playoff history. Losing 35-3, the Buffalo
Bills rallied in the 2nd half and won 41-38 in OT. Down 38-35 with only 1:43
left, take the Oilers and change history by defeating the Bills.
Now::
Team: Houston Oilers
Opposing team: Buffalo Bills
Score: 38-35 Buffalo
Possesion: Houston
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Houston 20 yard line
Timeouts: Buffalo-0, Houston-2
Time Left: 1:43
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: You've got a choice as to whether you want to go for it all with the
TD or try to take it to OT. If you do want to go for it, just run your normal
2MD, working the sidelines and spiking the ball. Score with pretty much as
little time as possible so Buffalo can't come back. If you want the field goal,
than you can pretty much run a regular offense as long as you're getting yards
and keeping the clock stopped every once in a while. Then, kick the field goal
and win in OT.

---
5. '93-'94 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Steelers at Chiefs
---
Summary: A late blocked punt gave the Kansas City Chiefs oppurtunity to tie the
game on a 4th down play remaining with 1:43 remaining. In OT the Chiefs kicked
the game winning field goal. Take control of the Chiefs and win the game.
Now::
Team: Kansas City Chiefs
Opposing team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Score: 24-17 Steelers
Possesion: Pittsburgh
Down and Distance: 3rd and 10
Where: Pittsburgh 46 yard line
Timeouts: Pittsburgh-0, KC-2
Time Left: 1:43
Clock Running/Stopped: RUNNING
Strategy: This one is a bit different from any of the other 2-minute drill MMs.
After doing a few tests, I found out that a) the CPU will always run on 3rd and
10, and b) usually, the clock will stop around 1:25 if you call a timeout as
soon as the play is over. So you should be able to stop the ballcarrier, call
a timeout, and get the ball back with about 1:15 on the clock--unless you wish
to call a timeout as soon as the MM starts, which should give you a bit more
time to score, but no timeouts. Your choice. Nevertheless, you'll have to run
a 2-minute drill (like you've had to do THAT in any of these...) and score a
TD, and then go into OT and get the win. Shouldn't be too hard, should it?

---
6. '94-'95 AFC Divisional Playoff-Dolphins at Chargers
---
Summary: The San Diego Chargers overcame a 21-6 deficit at halftime to beat the
Miami Dolphins 22-21. The Dolphins' hopes faded on a last second missed 48 yard
field goal. Take the Chargers with 3:00 remaining and complete the comeback.
Now::
Team: San Diego Chargers
Opposing team: Miami Dolphins
Score: 21-15 Miami
Possession: San Diego
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: San Diego 20 yard line
Timeouts: Miami-2, SD-2
Time Left: 3:00
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: You've got time, but not too much of it. Note that fact. It's your
friend. Manage the clock efficiently--make sure to drive down the field rather
casually and score and use almost all of the three minutes that you have to
work with. Is it an obvious strategy? Yes. Is it the best thing to do? Yes.

---
7. '95-'96 AFC Conference Championship-Colts at Steelers
---
Summary: The Pittsburgh Steelers drove 67 yards for a touchdown and beat the
Indianapolis Colts 20-16, but only after batting down a last second Hail Mary
pass. With 1:34 left in the game, lead the Colts to a win over the Steelers and
rewrite history.
Now::
Team: Indianapolis Colts
Opposing team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Score: 20-16 Pittsburgh
Possession: Indianapolis
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Indianapolis 20 yard line
Timeouts: Indy-2, Pitt-0
Time Left: 1:34
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: You've got a shortened field with less than two minutes to go. It
basically evens out to a normal two-minute drill, right? Bah, 1:34 isn't much
different from 2 minutes in the heat of the game, anyways. Everything you'd
normally do, work the sidelines, get first downs, blah blah blah, you know how
it works. And there probably won't be overtime unless your D sucks, so that's
good.

---
8. '96-'97 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Jags at Bills
---
Summary: The 2nd year Jacksonville Jaguars surprise the NFL and defeat the
Buffalo Bills 30-27 in their first appearance in the playoffs. With 3:07
remaining, hold the Jaguars 3 point lead and win the game.
Now::
Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
Opposing team: Buffalo Bills
Score: 30-27 Jacksonville
Possession: Buffalo
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Buffalo 20
Timeouts: Jacksonville-2, Buffalo-2
Time Left: 3:07
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: What is there to say, really? Play good defense. Keep them out of FG
range. If you do give up a field goal, feel free to advance to OT or win the
game now; whatever you wish...Give up a touchdown and it's a bit more
complicated. You've got almost no time and you've got to score a touchdown.
Have fun.

---
9. '97-'98 NFC Wild Card Playoff-Vikings at Giants
---
Summary: The Minnesota Vikings score 10 points in the last 1:30 of the game to
beat the New York Giants, 23-22, in one of the quickest playoff comebacks ever.
Down by 9 with 4 minutes left, guide the Vikings to victory.
Now::
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Opposing team: New York Giants
Score: 22-13 New York
Possession: Minnesota
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Minnesota 20 yard line
Timeouts: NY-2, Minnesota-2
Time Left: 4:00
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: 2 scores in 4 minutes, eh? As always, you'll want to hurry up and try
to score ASAP. Try to get the Giants the ball around the 2 minute warning time,
so then it can give you another timeout, in a way. I would reccomend going for
the TD in the first drive, unless you end up really low on time (as in, post
2-minute warning) towards the end of the first drive. That way, you only need a
field goal to take it.

---
10. '98-'99 NFC Wild Card Playoff-Packers at 49ers
---
Summary: Perhaps one of the greatest drives in a playoff game ever. The 49ers
drove 76 yards in 1:53 scoring on a 25 yard TD pass with only 3 seconds left to
beat the Packers, 30-27. Take control of the 49ers with 1:53 on the clock and
beat the Packers.
Now::
Team: San Francisco 49ers
Opposing team: Green Bay Packers
Score: 27-24
Possession: San Francisco
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: San Francisco 24 yard line
Timeouts: GB-2, SF-1
Time Left: 1:53
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Well, well, well, another 2 minute drill. Hooray, I get to copy and
paste again. So...You've got a choice as to whether you want to go for it all
with the TD or try to take it to OT. If you do want to go for it, just run your
normal 2MD, working the sidelines and spiking the ball. Score with pretty much
as little time as possible so GB can't come back. If you want the field goal,
than you can pretty much run a regular offense as long as you're getting yards
and keeping the clock stopped every once in a while. Then, kick the field goal
and win in OT.
And yes, I'm a lazy bum who should probably have come up with a unique strategy
for each and every one of these. If you've got a suggestion, feel free to
e-mail me (see contact info) but I remain a lazy bum until then -__-

---
11. '99-'00 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Bills at Titans
---
Summary: The "Home Run Throwback" play. A last second 75 yard razzle dazzle
lateral kick return propels the Titans to the Super Bowl in miracle-like
fashion. With 16 seconds left and down by 1, lead the Titans to playoff
victory.
Now::
Team: Tennessee Titans
Opposing team: Buffalo Bills
Score: 16-15
Possession: Tennessee
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Tennessee 20 yard line
Timeouts: Buffalo-1, Tennessee-1
Time Left: 0:15
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Well, when you first look at this, you'll see that, instead of you
being prepared for a kickoff with 15 seconds on the clock down 16-15, you'll
see that it's first down, at the Tennessee 20. When you see this, you'll be
thinking one of two things: a) "Whew, thank god I don't have to return the
kickoff, I suck at those" or b) "WTF?? Why am I not getting a chance to run the
kickoff back for a score? Dammit, I kick ass at those...". But nevertheless
it's first down at the 20, with 15 seconds, and 1 timeout. So I'll give you a
tip for getting the yardage you need. Look for a play that has a fly route that
is leading towards the sidelines. Throw it long to the man who's on the fly,
and MAKE SURE YOU LEAD HIM TOWARD THE SIDELINES SO HE CAN GET OUT OF BOUNDS.
You should run a play like this twice, and get out of bounds on at least one of
them, so that you can use your timeout and then stop the clock again, getting
the kicker into field goal range. It may seem cheap to some to just bomb it
long, but it's the best way to beat this moment. And if one of the passes is
incomplete, than you may as well start over. Unless, of course, you want to try
some hail mary in the waning seconds.

---
12. '00-'01 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Colts at Dolphins
---
Summary: The Dolphins win 23-17 after a controversial declined penalty and a
missed 49 yard field goal in OT by the Indianapolis Colts. In overtime, take
the Dolphins and stop the Colts from winning the game.
Now::
Team: Miami Dolphins
Opposing team: Indianapolis Colts
Score: 17-17
Possession: Indianapolis
Down and Distance: 2nd and 10
Where: Midfield
Timeouts: Indy-2, Miami-2
Time Left: 14:45 IN OT
Clock Running/Stopped: RUNNING
Strategy: OK, then. 2nd and 10 at midfield. This can be a bit tricky. If the
Colts get a first down, than they're close to (if not already in) field goal
range. So, for these 2 plays, you'll really have to buckle down and prevent
anyone from breaking loose for a big gain. Once you do that, you've got the
ball, and you will need to get about 50 yards (depending on where you start) to
get into field goal range and win the game. You can go for the score like Miami
did if you really want to, but the field goal is easier, of course.

---
13. '01-'02 AFC Divisional Playoff-Raiders at Patriots
---
Summary: The controversial overturned fumble call with 1:53 left in the 4th
that allowed the Patriots to kick a field goal, tie the game, and eventually
win 16-13 in OT. Drive with the Patriots for the win in OT.
Now::
Team: New England Patriots
Opposing team: Oakland Raiders
Score: 13-13
Possession: New England
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: New England 20 yard line
Timeouts: Oakland-2, NE-2
Time Left: 14:45 IN OT
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Alright, then. First and 10, in OT, at the 20. So what is there to
really say? Just get downfield into field goal range (probably about 50 yards).
So...yeah. Just run a simple offense and get into field goal range. If you dont
convert on a 3rd down and are on 4th, then you can either start over so that
you won't have to try to stop Oakland's O, or you can try to play some D and
stop Oakland from getting in range to win the game.

---
14. '02-'03 AFC Wild Card Playoff-Browns at Steelers
---
Summary: One of the greates playoff comebacks ever by the Steelers. Down 17
points, they scored 3 touchdowns in the final 19 minutes to rally to a 36-33
win over the Browns. Take the Steelers with 10 minutes left down 33-21 and
win the game.
Now::
Team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Opposing team: Cleveland Browns
Score: 33-21 Cleveland
Possession: Pittsburgh
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Pittsburgh 20 yard line
Timeouts: Cleveland-2, Pitt-2
Time Left: 10:00
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: This is a fun one. 2 touchdowns, 10 minutes, with a team better than
the one you're facing. Although it looks like you can use up as much time as
you want, don't. Work quickly, because Cleveland's going to try to use a lot of
clock on their drive. But as long as you don't let them score, you should be
pretty much fine. Go for 2 after your second touchdown, so they can't pull a
win from beneath your shoes like that old rug.

---
15. '03-'04 Super Bowl XXXVIII-Panthers at Patriots
---
Summary: Arguably the best Super Bowl in the last decade. There were 37 fourth
quarter points and 3 lead changes leading up to a Patriots to win the game with
9 seconds left. Take the Patriots with 6:53 left down 22-21 and win the Super
Bowl.
Now::
Team: New England Patriots
Opposing team: Carolina Panthers
Score: 22-21 Carolina
Possession: New England
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: New England 22 yard line
Timeouts: Carolina-2, NE-2
Time Left: 6:47
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: You've got time and flexibility here. You have 7 minutes to put some
sort of score up on the board. If you DON'T score on your first drive, don't
worry, just get ready to play some good defense and get the ball back as soon
as possible. Then, of course, you have to score. By means of kicking or touch-
downing. Blah.

---
16. The End of a Dynasty-'74 Dolphins at '74 Raiders
---
Summary: With 4:54 remaining the Dolphins were in the lead 19-14, but the lead
would change 3 times and the Raiders would end the Dolphins dynasty on a late 8
yard TD pass and win 28-26. Take control of the Raiders and end the Dolphins'
dynasty.
Now::
Team: Oakland Raiders ('74)
Opposing team: Miami Dolphins ('74)
Score: 19-14 Miami
Possession: Oakland
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Oakland 20 yard line
Timeouts: Miami-0, Oakland-3
Time Left: 4:54
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Blah, blah, blah. I hope you know what to do, but I'll explain
nonetheless. Score a touchdown the FIRST time you have the ball. Don't try to
hold Miami if you don't score right away, just start over. 5 minutes isn't a
lot of time with which to give the ball to your opponents--unless you want to
use your 3 timeouts. That should give you some decent time. But still, you'll
be in the best scenario possible if you simply get down the field and score
right away, so you won't have to worry about another comeback late in the game
like the Raiders really did back in 1974.

---
17. Super Bowl Composure-'88 Bengals at '88 49ers
---
Summary: The 49ers game winning drive started at their own 8 yard line. San
Francisco covered 92 yards in 11 plays that ended on a 10 yard TD pass with 34
seconds remaining to win Super Bowl XXIII. Take the 49ers 92 yards and defeat
the Bengals.
Now::
Team: San Francisco 49ers ('88)
Opposing team: Cincinatti Bengals ('88)
Score: 16-13 Cincinatti
Possession: San Francisco
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: SF 8 yard line
Timeouts: Cincy-3, SF-3
Time Left: 3:20
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: 92 yards. Just over 3 minutes. You've been through this scenario
before, only not as far, albeit you've got an extra minute to work
with helps. So what do I have to tell you? If you don't convert on 4th, start
over; you probably won't be able to operate well with the time you'll have.
Don't do anything stupid until you're past the 10. Work the clock efficiently,
and kick the field goal to send it into OT or try to score and win the game.

---
18. Wide Right-'90 Giants at '90 Bills
---
Summary: With the Giants leading the Bills 20-19 the Bills set up to try a last
second 49 yard field goal. The kick would sail wide right and give the New York
Giants the Super BOwl XXV victory. With 7:20 left, rewrite history and defeat
the Giants.
Now::
Team: Buffalo Bills ('90)
Opposing team: New York Giants ('90)
Score: 19-17 Buffalo
Possession: Buffalo
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Buffalo 20 yard line
Timeouts: NY-3, Buffalo-3
Time Left: 6:53
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Ball. ****ing. Control. USE IT. Run the ball. Control the clock. You
have a 91 overall halfback and a flat-out beastly offensive line, so using them
isn't a bad idea, especially if you waste a lot of clock on your first
possession and also get some points out of that same drive. The defense you've
got isn't bad, either, but as long as you use up the clock and give them a
2-possession cushion to work with, they should be fine no matter what. Oh, and
one more thing I need to add. If you've got nearly no time left, and you need
to kick a field goal to win it, DO NOT MISS IT WIDE RIGHT. JUST DON'T.

---
19. 4th and 26-'03 Packers at '03 Eagles
---
Summary: Trailing 17-14 with 1:12 left in regulation, the Eagles converted on
4th and 26, completing an improbably 28 yard pass. This led to the game tying
field goal and a win in OT. Take the Eagles, convert the 4th and 26, and beat
the Packers.
Now::
Team: Philadelphia Eagles ('03)
Opposing team: Green Bay Packers ('03)
Score: 17-14 Green Bay
Possession: Eagles
Down and Distance: I really hope I don't have to tell you.
Where: Eagles 26 yard line
Timeouts: GB-1, Philadelphia-1
Time Left: 1:12
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: You know, this isn't actually as hard as it is at first glance. Yes,
the conversion of 4th and 26 could be challenging, but once you do that, you're
past midfield, with about 15 yards to get into field goal range. To get the 4th
and 26, you've got 2 97 OVR WRs (whereas McNabb had Mitchell to throw to...) so
you shouldn't have THAT much trouble to have at least ONE of them break loose
for 26+ yards. A post, a post-corner, hell, even a simple fly could work to get
your 26 yards. Once you do that, you can go for it all or look to OT. When I
did it, I was able to get the TD on one play, so you can try to score and stop
Green Bay. It's just as effective as winning in OT. If you DO score, though,
don't get beat deep. Green Bay WILL need a TD if they want to win after you get
the TD, so that helps, but still, don't let your guard down. And if I may add,
this one was my personal favorite to write about because I'm a huge Eagles fan
and was at the game where 4th and 26 happened :)

20. The Drive-'86 Broncos at '86 Browns
---
Summary: It's known simply as "The Drive". The almost perfect 98 yard drive by
the Broncos in the closing minutes of the 1986 AFC Championship Game. Trailing
20-13, take the Broncos from their own 2 yard line with 5:32 left and win the
game.
Now::
Team: Denver Broncos ('86)
Opposing team: Cleveland Browns ('86)
Score: 20-13 Cleveland
Possession: Denver
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Denver 2 yard line
Timeouts: Denver-0, Cleveland-0
Time Left: 5:32
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Come on. This isn't that hard at all. Again, something you must watch
out for is the fact you're on the 2, so don't run anything stupid. But after
you've got breathing room, it shouldn't be that tough. You've got 5 and a half
minutes to score a touchdown, so you can take your time as long as you're still
moving downfield in the process. Then, you can kick the extra point and rely
on the D to stop Cleveland, so you can a) send it into OT, or b) try to get
time for a last field goal. OT...just make sure you win the toss (even though
you can't make sure of things like that -__-), and recieve, so you can get
right downfield and kick the field goal to win the game.

21. Falcons to the Super Bowl-'98 Falcons at '98 Vikings
---
Summary: The Vikings led 27-17 late in the game but missed a crucial 38 yard
field goal that would have won it. The Falcons capitalized on the deflated
Vikings, took the game into OT and won 30-27. Repeat the Falcons' comeback
with 13:41 left.
Now::
Team: Atlanta Falcons ('98)
Opposing team: Minnesota Vikings ('98)
Score: 27-17 Minnesota
Possession: Atlanta
Down and Distance: 1st and 10
Where: Atlanta 20 yard line
Timeouts: Atlanta-3, Minnesota-3
Time Left: 13:41
Clock Running/Stopped: Stopped
Strategy: Well, this basically is a whole quarter, as opposed to having 2
minutes to score. So you do have more time to score the 10 points you need to
take it into OT/the 11+ points you'll need to win it, but you've also got to
worry about Minnesota's offense. If you can play good D, it shouldn't be much
of a problem to at least get the game to OT, since you've got the ball with
nearly 14 minutes left, and you only need to score twice. And a final note:
This MM is set on All-Madden difficulty, it appears, so some people may have
more trouble with it than others.
