==============================================================================
A large amount of offical additional content was created for the release of
Dragon Age: Origins. The purpose of this FAQ is to gather it all together in
one place with details on where the content is from.
Most content is provided through an unlock code which adds the content to your
BioWare account. The codes are entered at

(1) In-Game Items
(1.01) Blood Dragon Armor (4-piece Armor Set)
Commissioned by an infamous Nevarran dragon hunter, this armor was crafted in
a time when dragons had almost been hunted to extinction. Infused with their
blood, the armor gained notoriety after the hunter died at the hands of men
rather than the dragons it was designed to protect him from. When all four
pieces of Blood Dragon Plate are equipped, the character gains a bonus to
defense and armor.
The code will also unlock for use in BioWare's Mass Effect 2.

(1.02) Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes (Book)
Far north of Orthland lies the Frozen Wastes. In these pages are hundreds of
harrowing tales describing how the barbarians survive in their icy homeland.
The authors' hope their stories will help readers in their times of need. Or
at the least prove entertaining.
Stats:
- Adds +3 to a player's attributes when read.
Placement: You'll receive this item immediately.
From:
- Collector's Edition (PC/360/PS3 valid until 30-04-2010)
(1.03) Bergen's Honor (Helmet)
When the Grey Warden Bergen knew he was at the end of his life, he descended
into the the Deep Roads joined by a full company of the Legion of the Dead.
They slew hordes of darkspawn, clearing tunnels that had been lost for
centuries. When at last they fell, a lone dwarf brought back Bergen's helm,
as well as his defiant and inspirational tale.
Stats:
- Adds +2 to armour
- Adds +25 physical resistance
- Adds +6 to attack
Placement: This is a massive dragonbone helmet. So it's end-game warrior fare.
At a good price. Besides Corruption at the end of the game, it should be the
best helm available. Available from Bodahn in the party camp.
From:
- Collector's Edition (PC/360/PS3 valid until 30-04-2010)
(1.04) Final Reason (Staff)
This staff was held by several senior master conjurers of the Circle Tower,
passed down from old master to new. Errant students learned to fear it, for
when all other forms of discipline failed, the Final Reason would produce
obedience at the cost of significant pain and discomfort.
Stats:
- Adds to damage
- Adds to spellpower
- Adds to fire damage
Placement: This is meant to be useable once the player is at 11+ level. It's
price, like all the pre-order items, should be very reasonable. It's meant to
be the best staff for the mid-levels of the game. Available from Bodahn in
the party camp.
From:
- Collector's Edition (PC/360/PS3 valid until 30-04-2010)
(1.05) Memory Band (Ring)
Made by the Formari, these lyrium-infused rings are supposed to help
apprentices retain their lessons. They work rather well - too well, perhaps,
as less capable students sometimes wear three or four per finger.
Stats:
- Adds +1% to XP
- Adds one skill point

(1.06) Feral Wolf Charm (Amulet)
Chasind hunters favour charms like this. The hunters claim that they are
enchanted on moonlit nights by scantily clad witches deep in the heart of the
Korcari Wilds. But perhaps that is just wishful thinking.
Stats:
- Adds to armor
- Adds to nature resist
- Increases exploration health regeneration

(1.07) Dalish Promise Ring (Ring)
Intended for a Dalish elf's betrothed, this enchanted silver band was blessed
by the tribe's Keeper to ensure a long, healthy life.
Stats:
- Increased effectiveness of healing effects
- Subtract damage from darkspawn attacks
- Increased combat health regeneration

(1.08) The Lion's Paw (Boots)
Lady Rosamund, an infamous outlaw of the Korcari Wilds, wore these regal
boots. Through clever ambushes and surprising tactics, she spent decades
preying on merchants and eluding the king's guards until one day she simply
disappeared. Some still brave the Wilds in search of her hidden hoard of
treasure.
Stats:
- Adds to armor
- Adds to dodge
- Adds considerably to evading missiles

(1.09) Guildmaster's Belt (Belt)
The guilds of Denerim are despised by the peasants of Ferelden because the
guildmasters grow fat off their labors. Quite literally in the case of this
belt's former owner, who could’ve stood to lose a pound or two.
Stats:
- Increase monetary gain
- Adds to cunning
- Increase chance to dodge attacks
From:
- GameCrazy pre-order
- mightyape.co.nz pre-order
(1.10) Band of Fire (Ring)
Magical fire is used with great care in the construction of these rings. After
a few unfortunate incidents of singed eyebrows and burnt hair, there is some
speculation that this is why the Formari often shave their heads.
Stats:
- Adds to stamina
- Adds to fire resist
- Adds to spirit resist
From:
- EA Store pre-Order
(1.11) The Wicked Oath (Ring)
Countess Luciana of Antiva lived as a virtual prisoner in her husband’s castle
until an elven slave offered her a way out. The slave magically bound a small
amount of the countess’s blood into a ring in return for a promise of freedom.
The countess agreed, and the count was found stabbed soon afterwards, this
ring lying beside him. Neither Luciana nor the slave were seen again.

(1.12) Mark of Vigilance (Amulet)
Not all maleficar practice forbidden blood magic, but templars must constantly
guard against the possibility that even an innocuous-seeming mage has delved
into arts that permit him to control the minds of others. The best mage-
hunters are granted these valued amulets as rewards by the Divine. They are
often entombed alongside the templar when he dies.

(1.13) The Edge (Dagger)

slices, it dices, and can make Orlesian potatoes. Yours for just one easy
payment.

(1.14) The Lucky Stone (Ring)

convoluted. Some say it has a life of its own.

(1.15) Helm of the Deep (Helmet)
There is a legend amongst the dwarves of the Legion of the Dead that, three
centuries ago, a commander of the Legion came across the body of a legionnaire
wearing a helmet inscribed with lyrium. He took it, and died nobly... and
then his body was found years later by another commander - and so forth, for
generations. The helmet is said to be a sign of an honorable death for the
lucky dwarf who stumbles across it.

Embri of Gwaren, an elven mage of limited talent who volunteered to become one
of the Tranquil, proved herself a talented enchanter - if absent-minded. She
kept an array of magical ingredients on her belt at all times, and eventually
the belt itself became magical. Embri died of lyrium poisoning many years
later, but the enchanted belt remains.

This amulet was forged during the height of the ancient Tevinter Imperium's

Crafted by the ancient dwarves as their first line of defense against the
darkspawn, the dread sentinels known as golems dwindled in number after the

found in the Deep Roads, reactivated and brought to the surface, and may prove

Blight.
The darkspawn-infested village of Honnleath holds a secret: the forgotten

(2.04) Return to Ostagar
Your memories of the battle of Ostagar will haunt you for years to come. It
laid waste to your order and claimed the lives of many great men and women.
Now, there are rumors that a fellow survivor of the battle has escaped from
captivity and is seeking the Grey Wardens' help. The time has come for the
Grey Wardens to make their return to Ostagar and exact their revenge upon the
darkspawn.
King Cailan Theirin inherited a Ferelden at peace, and it frustrated him
immensely. His father, beloved King Maric, had become a legend in his own
lifetime, defeating the Orlesians to gain independence for the nation. To
Cailan, that was the proper role of a king-rallying people against a common
enemy. But he also believed his father's success had deprived him of the
opportunity for greatness-Cailan's Ferelden was cursed by stability.
And so it was that young King Cailan, hungry for glory and eager to emulate
the ancient legends, committed the armies of Ferelden to face the darkspawn at
the earliest sign of the Blight. He took counsel from Grey Wardens, and
bolstered his forces with foreign troops, even inviting soldiers from hated
Orlais. This angered many who had served under Maric, but Cailan had no
interest in their quaint national prejudices; the darkspawn and their
archdemon master-these were threats worthy of a soon-to-be legendary king.
Whatever the reasons, Cailan and the Grey Wardens stood for Ferelden against
the darkspawn. It should have been a decisive victory, but they were abandoned
to face the horde alone.
Return to fallen Ostagar, discover the fate of a king, and reveal the true
cost of betrayal.
Includes:
- A return to the battlefields of Ostagar, now thick with darkspawn encamped
amidst the snow
- An opportunity to reclaim the lost arms and armor of a king
- A second chance to add Dog to your party
Placement:
- To find the survivor play through Dragon Age: Origins until after the
village of Lothering.
- Journey to Bann Loren's Lands along the Bannorn's northwest border.
