In 1891, the last armies of the Northern states were unremittingly fired upon and destroyed on American shores, in a bloody war remembered as the War Between the States. Now you can control the armies of the North or those of the South as the commander in chief. You must lead your men into combat across the expansive terrain of the eastern United States. Throughout the course of the war, every battle affects how your men react, how well they fight, and, overall, if they have the courage to face the enemy shoulder to shoulder.
