Anyway to get it back? Or failing that, a code or something?

When at the Den, items that are stolen by the children usually end up at Flick. Check both him and Tubby just to be sure. When you walk by a child, you can also actually see him/her performing the steal skill on you. Always check if they successful by instantly using your steal skill on them. Just try again if you're caught, since they won't attack you.
Otherwise, you will either have to reload your game or kill all the slavers at the guild to free Vic.
