Wizards & Warriors

I've noticed many complain of not being able to run the game on a computer with more than a single processor or a dual/beyond-core'd processor. Obviously Activision and Heuristic Park aren't going to be putting out a patch to fix this, but does anybody know why exactly this is? I've been trying to get a virtual machine set up to play this on but can't find my XP disc and my 98 disc is corrupt, so no luck there. Anyway I was just wondering if there were other work-arounds I don't know about or if there is actually a logical explanation for this problem to exist. All help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and just to let everybody know so I don't get it as a response, I do NOT have a single-core processor/board set that is still functional or I would obviously be using that for this game.
