Asked on: 7/18 8:19PM(Keep in mind, I'm a PC idiot. To be specific, I've never played a PC game. Ever.)
I've installed the games (TF2/Portal) and have been waiting at the "Updates" screen for about 40 minutes. Every now and then, I'll see it updating something, but for the most part, it just reads "Download starting..."
I'm assuming it means there's more content to be updated, but...This has been kind of a long wait.
And before it's asked, I'm running it on a fairly good/fast computer. It has Vista though, which I've heard kind of sucks with games...

statusOn Steam you should be able to play the game without downloading the updates. They should run in the background. The updates themselves take different amounts of time depending on what update you are downloading. Some take 30 seconds - others take a few hours.
