360 controller vs. Logitech Rumblepad 2?

I have a logitech rumblepad 2 and it works okay. i have it set up so the left analog stick is steering and the right one is gas and brake. my problem is that they aren't actually analog, the game still reads it as im either going left or not. or im flooring the gas or not on the gas. My question is: Does the 360 controller support analog gas and steering?

I use a Logitech controller (one of those PS2 controller clones) without rumble and have analog steering. There is a button to toggle between digital and analog; does the Rumblepad 2 have one?

The 360 controller definitely supports analog steering, but I don't know how the other stick would perform with analog gas/brakes. The game supports it for steering wheels, of course, but you might have to make a lot of adjustments to the sensitivity and deadzones to get it functioning nominally for a controller.

You can definitely find a more inexpensive controller to use for PC games that need analog controls, however. If you own a 360, it makes sense to just buy the adapter to use it with your computer, but if you don't, I'd absolutely recommend picking up a $20 pad that does the same exact thing without looking so flashy.

I also have a RumblePad 2, and it works just fine, the analog stick reacts just like it should.

So, what I did: the controls setup (buttons setup) + I turned on the "Rumble/Feedback" flag. Lso tweaked the "Advanced" controls (steering deadzone and such).

When I started playing the game, I also thought that the controls suck, but after tweaking them (and also setting the video details a bit lower so that the game ran smoothly), everything was just fine. So a RumblePad 2 works just fine.

Though, on the other hand, since in most of the new games (GTAIV and such) Microsoft made it impossible to use any joystick other than the one from the XBox 360 (the PC version, or the original with an adapter), so there is still a point in buying yourself one.

I use Wireless RumblePad2 and find the game 100% enjoyable... I personally don't like the positioning of the left analog stick on the xbox pad

I recently bought an x360 controller for windows, and it does have analog steering, gas and brakes, using teh analog triggers as accelerator and brake and the left stick for steering

I find this works really well, and it's comfy too =)
