"One Great Puzzle Game!"

General
Lode Runner 2 has many differences from the original Lode Runner. To start off it has a better mode where you build courses, containing the option to set the background as well as several other features. It also has more items and features than the original Lode Runner, such as bombs and the paint bucket.

Graphics (6/10)
The graphics are the one major improvements in Lode Runner 2. Quite an improvement from the black and white graphics of the original Lode Runner. The graphics are nice, but not too nice. The graphics lack detail and smoothness.

Sound (7/10)
The sound effects and music in Lode Runner 2 is OK, but not great. The sound effects are simple, and the music isn't that interesting.

Controls (6/10)
Lode Runner 2 has some of the most complicated controls I've ever seen. It takes a long time to master the controls. Fortunately, you can customize the controls. Even if you customize the controls, there are so many different commands that it still may take a while to know the controls.

Challenge (10/10)
This game is hard! If you could get through single player on the first week you played this game, I'd be amazed. The puzzles in this game are very challenging, an while your thinking, you gotta be running to avoid the monks that are after you.

Game Length (10/10)
The game is very long and has plenty of levels. It is a very long game for having one CD with it. If you like long hours of gameplay, this game is for you. There are aspects of the game, such as building your own levels, that increase the game length by allowing you to create your own levels and such.

Replay Value (5/10)
Once you conquer single or two player mode, would you go through all that trouble and challenge again? I certainly would not.

Gameplay/Fun (9/10)
Quite a fun game. Lode Runner 2 is pretty fun between the one player mode, the two player mode, and building your own courses. However, the game is only half 3D. You can't move everywhere you should be able to. You're limited to 4 directions: up, down, left, and right.

Originality (9/10)
The game's idea is very original. I haven't seen much like it. It's a very interesting concept of a game.

Overall (8/10)
If you are into puzzles and action, this game would make an excellent addition to your collection. If you aren't though, you may not want to buy it.
