"Good for a fan-made game."
I recently got into the halo games and I found this game and I tried it. For those of you who have played Halo, think of this game as what Halo would be like in the Genesis-SNES era of gaming. Yep, it's 2-D halo and for a fanmade game it's pretty good.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are cartoonish but again, for a fan-made game it's pretty good. You can tell which weapon is which and all the enemies are very defined.
Audio: 10/10
This is where this game really shines. They have the exact same music as the Xbox game. So you can imagine this getting your heart racing. The audio for the enemies is a little different, like killing a grunt sounds like you killed a bird or something.
Controls: 9/10
The default controls are hard to use but you can customize them, unfortunately I still couldn't come out with any perfect configuarion anyway. There's just too much, but once you get used to it, you have little problems.
Game Play: 15/20
The game play is pretty good. There is only one problem, this game is WAY too short. You can seriously blow through it in like 2 hours or less. Maybe less than one hour for the better gamers. The game has 10 levels, and each of them take around 5-10 minutes to do. On the good side, all your good classic weapons from Halo CE are back, and so are all the bad guys. Well, there is no flood, but all your covenant bad guys are back. The weapons are somewhat changed though. Plasma weapons are not near worthless, while the needler becomes stronger. The human weapons work pretty much the same as the xbox game, except no scope for the pistol. I'd say the best weapon out of the game is the shotgun. As for the enemies, there are no camo elites, but you will fight elites with swords, grunts on Shades, jackals, and even hunters. You don't get to control ghosts or banshees or the scorpion tank, but there are 2 missions where you use the warthog. In this version, you can both drive and shoot at the same time, which I personally like better than the Xbox version. Also, there is one level where you use a chaingun to shoot banshees down.
Overall: 8/10
Overall for a free game made by a halo fan it's definitely a good game to get. It eve has a multiplayer mode in it, and it has similar maps to the ones in the Xbox game, except they are 2d.
