Wow! What can I say more about this game? This is a game that sent a majority of its players into the realms of depression and sadness. This is also a game that irritated quite a number of its players due to its sensitive and controversial contents. So as you can see, you really need to be very mature and tolerant to play this game.

The story of Kana Little Sister centers around the relationship between a 20 year old youth Taka and his 18 year old sister Kana. Kana has a terminal kidney disease since she was a child and the story takes you through a painful experience as to how Kana struggles to live on and how Taka would do anything to protect her little sister from harm. The storyline is suprisingly mature, depressing and controversial for a h-game, dealing with topics like love, death, fear, psycology, desire, and most controversial of all, incest (Depends on which cultural point of view you're looking at here).

As you will probably notice from other reviews, the opinions on this game were quite extreme. They either love it or hate it. However, many of these reviewers were too biased in their reviews, which makes you, the reader, totally impossible to get an objective view of the game. One of these biased reviews was by "ina300". (No offense intended) He gave readers the false impression that Kana never got over her fears of death, which in turn renders the whole story pointless. That is totally untrue because it was actually the opposite. Besides, I've already stated above that the story deals with more than just fear. I will not spoil the game for you by telling you anymore on this subject.

Another issue that our friend, "ina300", brought up was incest (even though he seemed to be confused between an act of incest and a fantasy/human desires). Right, there's definitely a relationship going on between Taka and Kana and there's no denial to that. However, the social term, "incest", is very controversial on its own and whether you can call Taka and Kana's relationship an incest really depends on what cultural background you're from. (You'll know what I mean when you actually play the game.) I could understand that some people from a particular culture or country got offended by the Taka-Kana relationship, but as a reviewer one have to be as objective as possible in their reviews. So it was very important to be as objective and as considerate as possible in reviewing this "incest" topic. For those who are interested to get a wider perspective on the "incest" topic, I suggest you go and read it up in sites like Wikipedia first.

So as you can see, if you're not mature and considerate enough to handle such a controversial topic such as "incest", then don't even think about getting this game.

The last 2 things that our friend, "ina300", brought up were the gameplay and the lack of hentai scenes. He said this game isn't really a game because of the click click click, lack of choice gameplay. However, this type of gameplay isn't really new in games this genre. It's actually the most commonly used gameplay in h-games. So there wasn't really any need to get hyped up about it. As to the lack of hentai scenes, yes there were only minimal of them. However, the core of this game isn't about sex at all. So if you're like "ina300", who only wants lots of hentai scenes, then please stay away from this game.

There are also quite a number of untrue statements out there like some of them by our friend, "hempick". In his review, he said that Kana became a problem when Taka began a relationship with this other girl. How untrue and unfair. If there was actually a problem, it was actually Taka's fault who tried to use this other girl as a means to satisfy his lust and desires. (Ok, I won't say anymore because of spoilers.)

Of course, theres always two sides to giving false impressions. Many people say that the story in this game makes you cry and depressed. So many of these people exaggerates the achievement of this game's storyline. True, if you're from Europe or from America or from any of the countries outside the Asian countries, then you'll probably have a similiar impression oto "Bobo the Clown" (one of the reviewers on this game) as to how the story excels to the point that it could beat every game/sitcom/movie/soap/etc ever made. But to tell you all the truth, similiar storylines to Kana Little Sister are so common in sitcom/movie/soap/etc in the Asian countries, particularly Japan and Korea. Two particular mini-series already comes to mind that have similiar storylines to Kana Little Sister. They are the ever popular "God, please give me some more time" (the name is just a direct translation from Japanese, so it doesn't necessarily mean it's actually called that in English), whose about a girl who got Aids and the experience she and her lover goes through during that hard period. The other one is "Calling out lover from the center of the world", whose about a girl who got cancer and how her lover tried to make her life as meaningful as possible before she dies.

So as you can see, Kana Little Sister's is really nothing new, but that does not mean that it's bad. In fact, the story is very well done, especially considering that this is a story for a h-game.

The only downsides to this game are the graphics and the endings. The graphics isn't bad, but sometimes you'll find that Kana's face got "stretched" in some of the cgs. As for the endings, there's 6 of them. The endings are very well done and memorable, especially ending 2 which, in my opinion, is the best ending out of the 6. The problem with some of the endings is that 2 of them are out of place. There's an ending which was dubbed "the Yumi ending", which in itself was very well done and nothing wrong with it. However, there's ending no. 6 which actually looks more logical to be dubbed the "the Yumi ending" than the actual "Yumi ending". Again, I won't spoil it for you by saying too much.

As you can see, you really have to be mature and considerate enough to play this game. If you're sensitive to the "incest" topic, or are looking for a game with lots of hentai scenes, then this game isn't for you. This game is about the story.
