EverQuest II

Review by growlithe3456

"Wow, this game surprised me"

Introduction

Ahh, Norrath, land of Elves, Humans, and all those other little fantasy creatures. Even compared to other MMORPG's, its world is HUGE. Take Antonica, un-aided by horse or griffin, it can take 10 minutes to traverse across its rugged terrain. Let me just say, you will spend hours playing this game. It will consume every spare moment of your life, because leveling is actually challenging in this game, and you will want to move onto the next area, just to get another Fabled piece of armor. Anyway, enough of this little section, on with the actual review.

Gameplay
This is what makes a MMORPG a MMORPG, how addicting it is. The gameplay is astounding, there are many different attacks (both useful and for fun) for every single profession, whether it be Wizard or Guardian. This is in every MMORPG though, and what really makes EQ2 stand out is the Tradeskilling process. You pick a profession, and can make a variety of food, armor, weapons, and furniture. You get skills doing this too, to help make those perfect items. You will also make a lot of money this way, helping to buy and decorate your own personal living space. Oh, and you can even get cats/turtles/dogs/birds to put in your house, and invite other people to come in and look around. Showing off never hurt anything, eh?

Sound
Stunning, simply stunning. Almost every character in the game has their own personality and voice to go along with it. There is different music for every zone, most of it nothing short of amazing. I nominate this game for having the best sound in any MMORPG.

Graphics
This is a controversial topic, because this game's graphics can be the best of any game on any system at the moment, but only a few highly upgraded computers can run it like that without lag. This was made to evolve as technology evolved, and it's a pretty good idea. The character models are very detailed, each NPC having its own face, although, with some races, it's hard to tell them apart.

Overall

Everquest 2 is a great game and I would advise any avid MMORPG fan to pick it up from the store immediately. With all the expansions and updates coming out, you'll never run out of something to do. Happy Adventuring!
