"Like worms, but a slight more variety, No banana bombs unfortunately."

Evolution of Gunbound;
Thor's Hammer, World Champion, Revolution/North American

Gunbound is a game similar to Worms. In Gunbound, you control one many mobiles with separate attacks. The objective of the game is to defeat your opponent (Solo, Score, and Tag modes), or to get 100 Jewel Points before your opponent by destroying little creatures called Jewels. The premise seems simple enough, but throws in an excess of maps and strategic situations, equipment and items, and you've got a mediocre game of skill and strategy

STORY: N/A

Shoot the other team, Enough said.

GRAPHICS: 8

The graphics aren't in the same class as most PC games you can get today (Which can be a good thing -- the system requirements are quite minimal. I'm sure your machine can handle it, if not then there is something VERY wrong), but they're sharp nonetheless. Even though most of the game is in 2-D, there are some 3-D effects, not to mention some extremely detailed background pictures. The effects that take place during game play sometimes astound me even after playing higher class games.

In short, it has decent graphics due for such low system requirements.

SOUND: 5

The sound is cute at first, addicting at second, horridly annoying like circus music at third. But hey, if that's what floats your boat by all means, enjoy it. I prefer to turn it off and listen to my own music, but that's just my preference.

GAME MECHANICS: 7 1/2

The game mechanics is surprisingly decent. For simple tasks, such as damaging your opponent, to the more challenging tasks, such as high angling a shot, back-shot etc, You gain G(Gold) which later can be used in the “Avatar” shop to attain nifty looking clothes to put onto your character. Depending on which server you choose to play, these “Avatars” can affect your game play hugely, or just make your person look stylish in your eyes. But that isn't all, by killing opponents, winning games and other methods, you can win GP(Game points). The more GP you have, the higher rank you have. Unfortunately botters and cheaters have caused a huge incline in the GP requirement for some ranks, but who cares about ranks as long as you are having fun right?
There's also small tidbits that make the game much more fun. In some modes if you die, you can gain gold via, slots, or even take a hammer to the opponent while in death! If an ally decides to desert you in the middle of combat, they will reward you with 100 gold and deduct it off of the player leaving, which discourages leaving a game midway through. Also if you choose to “Random” your mobile, you have a chance to play as two of the strongest mobiles in Gunbound, EXCITING?

REPLAY VALUE: 9

This is a game that you can pick up any time and just waste away your day and have fun, sure it has deteriorated since Gunbound Thor's Hammer went to world champion, causing a majority of the GameFAQs Gunbound board community to either quit or fall into a hiatus, but it is still worth playing as long as you don't let the idiotic community get to you, which brings us to;

COMMUNITY: 2
Alas, the community unless you play with fun or known people, is a bunch of arrogant, ignorant, prejudice ****heads. If you are low-ranked, expect to be booted off of a high rank team or asked to switch sides. If you are high-ranked expect to be called onto every team or have people randomly join your side. Also if you miss while you are high-ranked you will be ridiculed like no tomorrow and be called a “noob”. If you are ANY rank and hit a lot of times, You will be accused of having an “aimbot”, a program which allows you to find an angle and power to hit the opponent regardless of wind and angle, not including terrain although.

OVERALL: 8

It's fun and free, what more do you want? Oh right it's also low sized and requires next to no commitment to keep up with friends, as long as you remember how to play and you have fun. Remember the reason people make games are to HAVE FUN, don't stress about gold/avatars/wins/rank and you will have a blast, I did until I was higher ranked at least.
