"Not violent, but addictive!!!!!!"
Remember the good old days, playing with your Lego's and building with them? Well, now, you can do that without your mom yelling at you about all the mess!!
It doesn't require much from your computer so it will run on old PC's, too.
GAME-PLAY: (9) The frame-rate is okay, you can take manual control of the Lego guys if you get mad because of the lousy AI, the slimy slugs and bats are annoying and can't be killed. The info system tells you what you can build after you get something or someone. The game speed can be increased if you think it's too slow, but it goes back if your O2 level is going down. There is an ore refinery you can upgrade to get more out of ore and build faster, you have a priorities menu you can use to tell the Rock Raiders what to do first and last, you can get vehicles to drill even faster, and fly around fast, too. It gets progressively harder as you go along, so you don't suddenly get hit with something you can't handle, most of the time.
GRAPHICS: (7) The games flaw, or my graphics card's flaw. When you take manual control of the units, the background flickers and looks weird, and the other Rock Raiders look too blocky, even for Lego's, from a distance. But the buildings and vehicles look cool, the monsters look awesome, and you can tell an energy crystal from a clump of ore.
REPLAY VALUE: (8) This game can be annoying, but ADDICTIVE!!! If you get a lot of energy crystals, you can build more stuff to drill faster. You can get the most advanced buildings at the beginning, to make it different.
OVERALL: (8) This game is cheap, good, and keeps you from killing everyone around you because of stress, but it can also make you stressed out, there is a level I hate because it's too hard. It has a really good tutorial system for noobs and people who haven't played it in a while.
