Star Trek: Legacy

"Once again, the Star Trek name misused."

Ok, I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced and once again I was severely disappointed. The concept was good and that is the only thing I can say that is positive about this game. Every other aspect was horrible and the game as a whole seemed like yet another title released way before it should have been. It's really sad to see companies continue to get the rights to something and then wreck it by rushing out substandard software to the consumer. We continually hear about the problems of piracy and to be honest its games like this that perpetuate the problem. As long as consumers allow game producers to get away with this it will always be an issue.

Graphics: 4/10
Nothing special to note about the graphics, though considering the date of release the graphical eye candy isn't that impressive to say the least.

Sound/Music: 5/10
Well considering I turned the game off and uninstalled it 15 minutes after first installing and playing it, I can't say I have heard everything the game contains. However, after trying it I can honestly say I don't want to. From what I did hear there wasn't anything special other than voices from Picard, Janeway, Sisko and Archer.

Gameplay: 1/10
Well you're thrown into the game with no tutorial and there isn't a chance to get used to flying your "shoebox under water" as that exactly what each ship feels like. Then you take command of a very familiar ship that has no shields and you have to fight three shielded Romulan ships that cloak in and out. It took me fifteen minutes of fighting with stupid camera angles before I ever hit one of the enemy ships. After that I didn't care to see what else the game was lacking.

Overall: 2/10
If you like having a fist full of money and then taking and throwing it down the toilet, then I suggest you buy this game since you'll at least have something to throw at the wall when you realize how frustrated you are for wasting money on another title that sucks. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!! If you want to try it, pirate a copy. Don't give those greedy jerks at Bethsoft the money they didn't earn. They've only attached another bad title to the good name of the Star Trek Universe.
