Review by DarkHero2005

"The Expansion is bad compared to the preceedor, but still a decent game."

Extraction Point is a sequel to F.E.A.R., but the game really doesn't get much better. the game is shorter than the original and doesn't really expand the story from where the original game left off. But despite that the game is really worth playing.

Graphics are somewhat a little better than the original. Instead of usually fighting in tight dark places, instead you fight in larger areas. This really makes fire fights twice as intense, now that you're fighting in a huge area with a bunch of clone soldiers coming at you. Another thing that I praise the graphics for is that the new graphics add more creepiness to the game. Some rooms have lots of blood, and a few things that hint something is about to get you... I'll rather not spoil what kinds of things those would be. See for yourself.

Sounds are pretty much the same. In addition to new dialougs in this game, it really doesn't expand much in terms of new sounds. The only new sounds are the new things like the new weapons. There are new enemies, but they don't make that many sounds as much as older enemies did.

Gameplay wise I'd say there are a few new things. Most recognizable are weapons. You get three new weapons. Two are what you carry on your hands and the other one is something you throw. Another new thing is that there are new enemies, which gives much more challenge. It even adds up now that the AI is more advanced than the original. Oh, and one more thing, not trying to spoil, but there is a friendly AI who helps you fight in one part of the game.

Overall the game doesn't really add much. You just get more creepier so you don't do as much fighting as before. No new multiplayer content and the story doesn't really get any bigger. But for those of you who played F.E.A.R. original MUST play the expansion. It's worth playing despite the two negative sides of the game. Besides, playing a bit of a sequel to the game wouldn't hurt either.
