Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

"Incredible Gaming Experience"
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is one of THE best first-person shooters available to download and play for free. It's online capable only, but it makes up for with an awesome experience.
Graphics-
The graphics in Enemy Territory are surprisingly, not too shabby. Though it lacks in "special effects", it's still enough to keep you from playing Shadow of the Colossus for your weekly polygon fix. The guns are detailed enough to where you can tell who's shooting what out of the scope of your sniper rifle. The models are easy to distinguish, Axis wear battle robes, Allies wear battle vests and pants. The screen also gives a violent shake whenever an explosion goes off nearby. There are also quite a few mods that make the explosions a little more dicey, I even ran into one that made every single bullet a tracer. I swear I was seeing yellow lines for two days after that. Overall, don't bother downloading if your looking for graphics, but trust me, this is an insignificant factor.

Sound-
The sound is slightly better than graphics. Every weapon has it's own distinct sound, so you can tell what weapon an enemy is using, even if you can't see them. The doors do have a horrible habit of squeaking all the time though, they need a little WD40. A subway train comes complete with metal grinding, electricity, and even the little sound that tells you've been run over- "Squash!" The tank has a functioning engine (thank goodness). Glass shattering, knife throwing, poison needling, silenced weapons, this game accounted for practically everything.

Gameplay-
Ahh yes, the moment I have been waiting for. This game is perhaps one of the most addictive shooters ever. Aside from the countless number of maps, some even user-made, there are the classes. Yes, like Battlefield type of classes. There are soldiers, medics, engineers, field ops, and covert ops. All of which have class specific abilities that serve different purposes in battle. Soldiers have a higher amount of weapons to choose from, medics can heal and revive teammates, engineers can create/destroy obstacles or fix machinery, field ops can call in air strikes and provide ammunition, and covert ops are the only ones that can equip sniper rifles and used silenced weapons, they can also disguise themselves as an enemy to sneak behind the front line.
There is only one problem with the classes- the medics are way over-powered. They gain health every second making them harder to kill, and the so-called "experts" retreat when wounded to tend to their injuries, making you a very dead man when you run into his friends while chasing down your kill. Of course there is a very simple solution to all of this, don't play with those people.
There is also another thing I really enjoy. You gain experience by performing certain tasks. This experience nets you advanced abilities if you get enough of it. Examples are dual-wielding pistols and faster reload times. However, only certain servers allow you to "save" this experience, and it doesn't carry over, so it's usually a good idea to stick to a couple that you really enjoy.
