Resident Evil 4
Review by RuleTheTriforce
"Great. A chainsaw. !@#$."
Hah...Resident Evil 4 for the PC. Finally...I was waiting for this one.
I've looked at other reviews for Resident Evil 4, and they completely over critisized RE4 for the PC. It may have flaws, but with the right mods it's a blast.
Storyline: 10/10
Resident Evil 4 is based around this era. The story starts off as your character, Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil 2) is telling the story about the Racoon City incident. He explains that he is now a government agent, who is in charge of protecting the President's family.
Leon has gone to this deserted village in Europe, because the President's daughter, Ashley Graham, has been kidnapped. Resource information has told Leon that she was last seen here. He is driven in by car, where he walks into a cabin and asks a villager if he has seen Ashley. Without hesitation, the villager picks up an axe and swings at Leon. Leon knows that there's something wrong...
Graphics: 9/10
Now..here's where the game got a little disappointing. The graphics. I, still think that they look pretty good..not as good as the Gamecube's graphics though. The graphics looks grainy, and in certain places, the lighting is messed up, and ruins the "scare" of the game. There is a patch that fixes the graphics and a few of the lighting issues.
Gameplay: 10/10
I just LOVED the gameplay in Resident Evil 4. Sure, I needed to download a mod to be able to use my mouse, but I didn't care. The gameplay was the exact same as the PS2's gameplay style. The new over-the-shoulder camera angle made Resident Evil 4 alot more enjoyable.
Sound: 9/10
The sound wasn't perfect. It's the same every time...battle music. No different. The gun sounds however, were amazing. I loved them. They all sounded very real. Also, the sounds that Leon makes when he gets hit were pretty funny. ^-^.
In total, Resident Evil 4 is definitly worth your 30$. Go pick it up now, and enravel yourself in hours of gameplay and scares.
Not very many scares though.
