Dungeon Runners
Review by GaMeR_NuT
"A well done RPG for the PC - And its free!"
Introduction
We all know that good games come at a cost. Take World Of Warcraft, for example. Awesome game that'll bore a hole in your wallet. But sometimes, out of nowhere, a game will poke out of the hedges of gaming wonders and say "Hey look at me! I'm free!" This is exactly the case with Dungeon Runners
The game itself is nothing original. It plays just like Diablo, it has basically the same thing as Diablo, hell it even looks like Diablo. So you may be asking, "then why is this game so amazing?" First of all, it's free. You don't have to buy anything at all. Of course, to become a special member of the game and get more features you need to pay $5 a month, just like in a game most people call trash, Runescape. Let me tell you this game is NOTHING like Runescape! Dungeon Runners shows up with amazing graphics, great gameplay, and sound/music to make Runescape look like ****. But, in order to actually play the game, you need to download it. I think the speed in which it downloads depends completely on your computer. The game took a complete hour and a half to download onto my new Dell Inspiron laptop, but still, it was worth it.
Story
There really isn't a story in the game, just quests. There are a variety of these quests, some involving killing a certain number of things, or collecting a special item for someone. So, there's really nothing new here.
Gameplay
Dungeon Runners plays almost the same as Diablo. You kill things by clicking on them and holding until you character takes care of them. You have a health bar and a mana bar for magic powers that you can use to defeat your enemies. The controls can take a while to get used to, but soon enough you'll learn them. The leveling up system works ok, but they could have done a but more to improve it. Just like I said, this game is almost identical to Diablo. One really cool feature is the ability to group up with other players. When this happens, there health bar and mana bar appear on screen, as well as there current location. This is an extremely fun way to make friends and attack enemies together. There are also merchants that you can talk to to sell stuff like weapons, armor, and potions, as well as buy these things. Money in this game is extremely easy to get, and a regular new player can make up to 10,000 coins in about 2 hours. One more thing I should mention is that you can play this game like a 3rd person shooter, with the camera behind the person rather then up above them like in Diablo.
Graphics
The graphics in Dungeon Runners are perfect. Everything looks smooth, like the armor, weapons, etc. The environments look pretty good, as well as the enemies. For a free, downloadable game, there is nothing here that disappoints me.
Sound/Music
The sound and music, just like the graphics, coudn't get an better. The music reflects where you are. If you are in the local town, the music will be like something you'd hear at a market. If you are in a dark dungeon of some sort, the music will get deep and slow. Also, the sounds of slashing and grunting from your character is very cool.
Conclusion
This game is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a great, downloadable, free RPG that they can enjoy through and through.
