Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Review by megamonky
"Awesome game thats worth playing"
A sequel to a great game Lego star wars two improves quite a bit on the original game in a few ways like gameplay, sound etc. Read this review to find out more about this fantastic game.
Gameplay:
Ok on to one of the most important aspects of any game, the gameplay. The gameplay in this game is great, with many new things being added on to the game from the previous game in the series. During the game you will control many characters from the original trilogy (plus some from I, II and III if you use a special extra in the game
.. but more on that later), from princess Liea to Luke Skywalker to ewoks and many, many more. Every character belongs to a type of characters, most belong in the blaster group but there are more like force user and others. Every type of character has a special ability which helps you throughout the game like blaster can use grappling hooks to get you to places you normally couldn't and force users can use their forces powers to move different objects on the map, every ability helps in some way or another. The game is fun and the controls a very simple and easy to learn and will only take like 30 seconds to get used to them. In the game you play though episode IV, V and VI, each having 6 level or chapters in them, first time you start the game you can only play on the first level of episode IV but after you finish that level you unlock both episode V and VI and you are able to play them whenever you want. The two main types of weapons you will be using in this game are blasters and light sabers though small creatures/animals use a different type of blaster to the other blaster type they still use blasters, though only a few some do use just their hands.
I give the gameplay an 8/10
Graphics:
The graphics in this game are excellent. The details in this game are quite well done for this game. The objects and characters and other little details are very well done in this game. It is quite entertaining whenever you die to just see your Lego character just explode for no apparent reason and even that's done with pretty good detail.
I give graphics a 9/10
Story:
The story is well
.. the story of the original trilogy of star wars. Not much more then that. The game stays true to story throughout the whole game all the while adding a nice touch of humour to it giving you a laugh at just about every cutscene.
I give the story a 7/10
Sound/Music:
The sound and music in this game fits the game quite nicely. You can hear the sound of one of the characters shooting a blaster to the sounds of someone swinging a lightsaber to the sounds of a vehicle accelerating all are done very well and fit were they are put. The music in this game is also great. All the music in this game fits in where it is played. Weather you are in the cantina or atop the death star the music will always be right for whatever level you are on in the game.
I give Sound/music a 8/10
Replay value:
Lego star wars 2: the original trilogy has a lot of replay value in it. It might not take a lot of time to complete the story (it might take maybe 2-4 hour depending) but even after that there is still more to do like getting all the mini kits that you haven't gotten/been able to collect and getting the red blocks which give you useful things and abilities that help you to do things in the game like giving x8 multiplier to you blaster/sabre damage and a minikit detector which is quite useful if you just can't find that last minikit you've been seaching for and there is still more to do in this game. Like getting the golden bricks from levels so you can build things like doorways to these minigames that will give you another gold brick upon completion (in one you have to beat the whole episode in which it is placed in under an hour) and as you collect these gold bricks they will pile up outside and allow you to be able to make two extra things. One is called Lego city and another is a money fountain (the money fountain need 99 blocks to be built). Finally during the course of the game you will collect the money in the game which is called studs and you can use the studs in this game to buy stuff from the bar like characters and even gold bricks. Once you're done collecting all that stuff it won't be surprising when you have a big sense of satisfaction on your face. Most of the time its quite fun to do it again.
So I give replay value a 10/10
Final verdict/comments:
My final verdict on this game and weather you should buy, rent or avoid is: defiantly buy this is a great game and is totally worth getting.
Final score: 8/10
