Civilization IV
Review by zhuge_liang_
"Are you civilized?"
When I bought this game about two years ago, I immediately researched about this game. I found out that's it's great, it can keep me playing for forever and it's like the classic board games that I loved so much. The long awaited game after the Civilization three, Civilization four made a blast in the late months of 2005. I made my choice, I rush through the local game store and bought the newly-released game.
I love this game! Of coarse, I need to tweak some things inside my computer for better performance. As far as 2005 is concerned, this is the best game ever, beating it's competitors at that year.
This game is amazing, actually, in my opinion, developers let their fans create MODS for this game. They freed the game by letting gamers modify it. Soon thereafter, mods are created by fans and they had posted this on Civilization Fanatics.
Going back to the game, I will rate this game according to my opinions:
Graphics: 10/10
Although some bugs and glitches occur randomly here, it's still generally great. I think this game will be "SIM" like if they put little persons walking to their work, driving and doing fun activities. The graphics are great, even if you zoom it in, it's still great unlike in Empire Earth, if you zoom in, well, it's bad. The world view is the greatest feature that this game can offer you. You will see the whole world you explored.
Sounds/Music: 10/10
It's realistic. Zooming in the city, the main music stops and you will hear a scene from the market. Zooming out, you will hear the flow of the main music. If you move your troops, you will hear them march, if you attack, you will hear gun shots (in the modern era) and if a sea battle erupts, it creates some cannon ball sounds (in the renaissance).
Game Play: 10/10
A big 10 for this one. Players can create their empire of ever expanding heights by conquering ever stronger enemies. The game is also perfect for role plays. You can create a story from the game you had just played, provided that your audiences are entertained. The game also include a wide and I mean wide coverage of economical aspects and military ones.
If I were you and you still don't have this game, buy it, enjoy it and treasure it. I recommend this game for a long-time basis.
