"War...war never changes"

Looking for a mature turn based RPG with several quirky pop culture references that will make you laugh to tears? This is the game for you!

Graphics:8/10
Fallout 2's graphics aren't the greatest thing ever but this is a game where graphics are what matter.s The graphics at times can be a little glitchy and they are very bland, but it is a post apocalyptic nuclear world we are talking about....it's not supposed to have extremely detailed surroundings and CGI although the opening scene is really great for 1998.

Sound:9/10
It's hard to find anything bad about the music of this game. Although you won't really notice the background music at first it does exist. It really fits the mood and somber tone of the game. The opening song by Louie Armstrong, A Kiss To Build a Dream On, is a great way to start the game and it really gives you the feel of the people who live in the vault. The sound effects of this game are amazing. You really appreciate them when you blow a hole is somebody's stomach and you hear them wench in pain and the crunching of the bones and flesh...sounds horrible? Well this is Fallout after all!

Gameplay:10/10
I've read somewhere else that this game's gameplay is described as, "Easy to use, but hard to master." and I don't think anyone could have said it better. Although the combat is very easy to pick up it is very difficult to master because of the various styles of battle you can use. You can choose to be a master of small, large, and energy weapons or even go bare handed! With an large variety of styles to choose from it makes mastering this game hard. The over all battle system works just like the previous installment and just like any other tactic game. You make your move or pick your attack until out of action points then the computer does it. May sound boring but with computer taunts and funny messages, it never gets old.

Story:10/10
One great story is all I can sum it up with. Fallout 2 takes place in 2241, 80 years after the first Fallout. It tells the story of the original hero's descendant and his or her quest to save their primitive tribe from starvation by finding an ancient environmental restoration machine known as the "Garden of Eden Creation Kit", or GECK as it's called in the game. But that's the least of your worries as you soon find an even greater threat to the whole world!

Replayability:10/10
Talk about replayabilty! With tons of quests, choices, and character builds this game is the ultimate example of replayability! With the chance to be purely evil or purely good you will always have to play it at least once more.

Conclusion: 10/10
Well, this game is one of the greatest computer RPGs of all time. It contains such great pop culture puns and adult themes anyone would want to play it. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of rpgs. Another great this is it has low system requirements so any computer or laptop can run it with little or no problem at all. Being a fan of the original and a bigger fan of the sequel I suggest everyone try and play it!
