Command & Conquer Renegade
Review by therater13
"A fun shooter."
Here is my review for Command and conquer renegade. I picked up this game with a 5 pack of different command and conquer games. Some people, large game review sites have been a bit negative about this game, I do not understand this, in my opinion this was a very fun game, even if it was a little bit silly at times.
Story: The story in this game is really corny, it was ok there was not a whole lot a depth, you are a commando who attacks different Nod bases, you do different jobs also, like help your old team members or rescue civilians. The story was not the worst I've ever seen but it got the job done.
Audio: The gun shots in the game sound pretty well, overall the weapons sound ok, the voice over's not amazing but there by no means bad.
Game play: This game plays like any regular shooter, it is pretty enjoyable, and you can play in either a 1st person prospective or a 3rd person perspective. For the most part it plays like an intense Hollywood action movie, there is not much need for thought while you play this game, and you just run and shoot at any hostile enemy you see. There are some different objectives during the course of this game, this ranges from infiltrating and destroying different Nod bases, rescuing convoy's and civilians, there is no stealth in this game, just your generic shoot everything that moves and that is not hostile. I only wished there was more squad based action. For the most part you are alone, this does make it a little bit boring after a while, you do get some friendly soldiers that help you, they mostly just stand there and they do not really follow you and help you. There are also vehicles in this game, there are many types and they handle pretty well, except the big tanks are ridiculously slow.
Weapons: The weapons in this game are pretty cool; there are a good number of weapons to have fun with, some big machine guns and even chemical spiders. I wish the environments were more destructible in this game though, there isn't really a need to ever take cover from weapons and if you need to or an enemy does you can not shot through the cover.
I would say any shooter fan should pick this game up; even today someone can have fun shooting things in this game.
