Dungeon Siege

"A solid hack and slash."

Dungeon siege. Why I have not had a really good hack and slash since the Diablo games, and that series sort of lost its value because of stupid skill tree's and questing system's. Dungeon siege is your basic hack and slash, you have a big long linear world and you go through it progressively, one neat thing about this game was no load times I may add. Any who you go through dungeons, the first one is maybe 20 minutes or a half hour, they get longer and longer until your in 3 hour dungeon's or so. This is good and bad, as there were some fun dungeons like the big ice cave, which was about a 2 hour dungeon then right after it, literally 2 minutes after a 2 hour ice cave there was a 3 hour “pathway” or something, now that was one of the worst dungeon's I have ever had to play in a game. I will get on with the review now.

Story: I am going to be honest, I had no idea what the story was I just progressed through the game now paying to much attention, I did not finish the game as it got tedious after the swamp and the tech dungeon but I would say I was a good 80-85% through the game.

Audio: I did not realize any voice acting, there may have been some and I didn't pay much attention to the music so I cant comment to much there, it was pretty small tone though it didn't really have an impact on the atmosphere it was kind of just there. Monster sounds were decent though.

Graphics: Excellent, they are very nice. Good character models and a nice world to roam around.

Game play: It is alright, it is your basic hack and slash but I found after the first couple area's the next area's just got to darn tedious, I mean after the swamp dungeon which was very long I ended up in some other crappy one that just got the best of me. Overall the game was fun but it was lacking that driving force that brings you to finish a game and that is really what brings the score down.

This is not a bad game, if you like hack and slash games and dungeon crawling then look no further but if you want a deep rpg, look somewhere else.
