Siege of Avalon
Review by therater13
"A great unknown game"
Seige of avalon, this is possibly one of the best unknown and low budget games I have ever played. This is one of the best games I have ever played in my life, period. This is a rich and compelling story and it has semi realistic features seeing as only a couple strikes with a sword will kill you in this game, you have to be careful and you have to be smart also.
Graphics: I really like the art in this game, everything looks very smooth and dark, the graphics give this game a very dark atmosphere, it is kind of creepy in fact, it really work's. These are some of the nicest looking graphics I have ever seen actually. I would rather have these graphics then the crappy looking graphics of never winter nights 1 and 2, now those games were just plain ugly.
Audio: This is not a game where there is voice acting, but seeing as it is a pretty low budget game it is understandable, I still think this is a very fun game. The music is very well done and it gives a mood of hope, this is a very dark game in theory, but I will get to that later.
Story: The story in this game is nothing short of amazing, it is a giant scheme involving crooked general's and traitor soldiers with barbarians to dismantle the empire of Avalon from the inside then invade when at its weakest point. Very good story, one of the best I have seen in fact.
Game play: This game plays like any rpg but you do not really level up, you just gain skill points every time you kill something and distribute them as you please, there are no real level up's but instead a much quicker and slightly different process is there in its place. The sword play is semi realistic in this game, you won't handle more then a few strikes before you fall. You may have up to 2 other party members you do not have direct control over, instead you select there A.I, which is something I found a bit lacking but still alright. You may control them at times to scout though if needed.
If you see this game in stores, don't wait buy it, this is one of those rare gem's you do not see very often, you probably wont see it for a high price so pick it up and try it.
