"Average... Oh, yeah! and a voluptuous babe involved too"
SiN is a FPS developed by Ritual Entertainment. Usually in gaming simple recipes are the tastiest. This FPS has these ingredients, a famous graphic engine, (call me Quake 2), simple gameplay, ribs and blood, a sexy villain and endless shooting, but the result here isn't so good
Story: 4/10
You are John R. Blade, something like a cop in an elite police force called Hardcorps. The story is set in the future with the main problem being a dangerous drug that is spread across the city. The game starts with you trying to kill the bad guys inside a bank. After a while you find out that there is a connection with the SinTek, a powerful company owned by the biology & genetics genius, Elexis, a woman whose brain is probably in her bra instead her head, (yes, THEY are actually so big that it is almost funny!). So far so good, but the rest is actually pretty boring, apart from some humorous bits there isn't something really exciting in the game, the plot and its characters are quite typical, there is no mystery or plot twists, nothing to keep you interested. But what do I know? Most people seem to like it
I don't know, must be the big breasts
Graphics: 7.5/10
The developers have used the Quake 2 engine in a great way, creating large areas with great variety and detail. From urban areas and facilities to underground lairs and futuristic labs everything looks quite good. Characters are blocky but have much better design that the Quake ones, (but with simpler textures). The main attraction in graphic section is probably the gore. When you shoot people you actually see the effects of your bullets in the bodies of the unfortunate people that have come across you. Blood is splattered all over the place and limbs are cut of your foes and decorate the place. Lighting and effects are simple but get the job done. Oh, yes I almost forgot
BIG, BOUNCY breasts
Sound: 5.5/10
Music in SiN is the typical futuristic mix of techno and hard rock and in my humble opinion is boring and very repetitive. Sounds on the other hand are much better and I speak mainly about the gunfight sounds because there aren't many ambient sounds to enhance the game. Voice acting is ok I guess, (it reminds me these old superhero cartoons for some reason), with the best part being the dialogues between Blade and his buddy, a hacker whose name I've forgot.
Gameplay: 4.8/10
Apart from the occasional key finding parts SiN is all about shooting and by shooting I mean, repetitive fights with thugs that find it quite hard to hurt you thus making the game quite good for beginners only. Although each stage has its own main objective 99.9% of the game is mindless shooting and lots of gore, so if that's what you're looking for go for it, I personally prefer the good old Doom when it comes to endless shooting
Positives:
-Great used of the Quake 2 graphic engine
-Lots of gore
-Have I mentioned the big breasts of the villain?
Negatives:
-Repetitive shooting, very easy, small replay value
Also Play:
Quake 2, 4 (PC)
Soldier Of Fortune (PC)
Soldier Of Fortune 2 (PC)
Unreal (PC)
Overall: 5.4/10
I am probably one of the few guys that don't like this game and in case you are one of us please try before you buy
