"Would the REAL Leisure Suit Larry please stand up?"

I would like to state first off, I do not hate Leisure Suit Larry games. Quite the contrary, I love the series. Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love For Sail is probably my favorite PC game of all time. I have seriously played that game from start to finish a dozen times or better. I absolutely love the gameplay, the humor, everything about it. And I would now like to add, this game is NOT a Leisure Suit Larry game!

The Leisure Suit Larry games we remember (for those of us that have played them) are NOTHING at all like this game. They were fun, very entertaining, hilarious, had puzzles you had to really think about. You had to find items and find where and when to use them. That perhaps, apart from the humor, is what made the previous Larry installments so great. But you wont find any of that here. This game has degenerated into ridiculous mini games that become more of an annoying chore than a fun game to play. I absolutely hate them and I think most of you do (or will) also. This game is NOTHING like the originals and I advise you to stay far away from it. Now on to in depth details why I hate this game.

Gameplay: 2/10. Hop! Hop! Duck! Duck! UGH! Following absolutely moronic on-screen verbal commands in the oh-so-annoying mini games makes you seriously want to frisbee this game out the window. Its not even worth the gas to return it to your nearest dumpster. There are no puzzles like in the other Larry games which proves once again this is NOT a Leisure Suit Larry game. This game isnt even a good stand-alone game either.

Graphics: 3/10. The graphics are goofy and boxy looking. They seriously should have stuck with the graphics from the previous Larry games, like Larry 7. These graphics annoy me. Larry in 3D just doesnt work. Wait, did I just call this guy Larry? I retract my previous statement.

Challenge: 10/10. I dont mean this in a good way. If you seriously can play through the dreadful minigames of trampoline bounce and the other hideous mini games then you deserve a special kind of reward. Not a good reward either, but maybe a roundhouse kick to the face.

Fun Factor: 1/10. Ha, nothing is fun about this game. Guiding this idiot around to play those annoying mini games over and over and over is enough to make anybody go insane.

Rent or Buy? NEITHER! Dont even look at the case.

Final Thoughts: Being they decided to leave Al Lowe, the man us Larry fans grown to love, out of the series now, the game has seriously gone down the toilet. I swear Al cried everytime he looked at this game. I know I did. This game has as much to do with Leisure Suit Larry as Ninja Gaiden Sigma does. In fact, you should probably go play that instead. If you want a TRUE Larry game (or games) go buy the collection on Ebay and stay away from this garbage.
