Avencast: Rise of the Mage
Review by buchit666
"This game is not as good as it sounds."
Avencast: Rise of the Mages, sounds like a good game right? Well, you're wrong! This game couldn't even bring the simplest bit of fun, or at least worth. This game is utter crap considering the fact that this was made during the 21st century. Everything in this game is bad. Some worth mentioning are controls, story, innovation, and of course... the Camera View. This game is abysmal, and isn't worth buying. I need to get something off my chest about this game.
Gameplay- 2/10
Oh, gameplay. This is the one that I hate the most. Well, it pretty much sucks in any way you want to define it. Let's start off with the controls, the default controls are pretty much fair. I don't have much to say about it since you can change it anyway. The Battle System is just pure non-sense, all you have to do is draw out your weapon and smack it. It took me 4 battles before I saw the bar that tells me how much damage I have inflicted. And guess what, it's at the bottom of the screen! Well-hidden to easily prevent you from getting familiar with the game, which you know, is a bad trait. The weapons, spells, characters and everything that comes with it is worse. But do you know what really got me irritated on this game? It's the Camera View, and all I can say about it is that it is the most inconsiderate and most lousy feature of the game. Come on! If the developers want a new innovative concept, then why did they screw up the camera? Isn't it about time that developers know what they should do to make proper games?
Story- 1/10
By the time I realized how bad this game is, I quickly uninstalled it. Which hindered me to continue the game. But when I uninstalled it, I was on my proper mind. I knew that if the game itself was bad, then the story itself would be bad too. I haven't got much to say about the game's story. Although I don't regret trashing this game that I just bought, I regret wasting money on it. And so does the time I wasted on understanding the game's story.... and playing it.
Music- 1/10
In these kinds of games, Music aren't given that much attention. But it should still be an addition to all games. And as I have said above, everything in this game is bad. And literally, it includes Music. Everything I've heard on this game isn't worth calling music, simply because they aren't music! It's that simple. All I hear are crackling tones and gibberish dialogue from those insolent and lousy characters. If you compare this game's sound to any game on the Game Boy, perhaps you know what I mean.
I feel bad for this game, for those who bought it, and the company who made it. Although I have no direct right to insult and blame this game, I think I partially do because I bought this game, legally with hard-earned cash. In case the reader still haven't recognized, this game is a direct insult to the Video Game Industry not only because this is a clone game, but because of every quality it contains.
